摘要： A network storage system comprises data storage, one or more file system APIs, and a metadata handler. The data storage can comprise file data and associated metadata. The file system APIs can be configured to read and write file data and metadata to and from the data storage. The metadata handler can have a library of functions for handling the metadata. The library can include a metadata blob creation function and a metadata blob extraction function. The metadata blob creation function cooperates with the file system APIs to read source metadata associated with specified file data and creates and populates a metadata blob from which a substantial copy of the source metadata can be generated. The metadata blob extraction function receives at least a metadata blob, extracts information from the metadata blob, and cooperates with the file system APIs to generate destination metadata, a substantial copy of the source metadata.

摘要： A computer-implemented system and method for identifying relevant documents is provided. A set of documents each associated with one or more concepts is identified. At least a portion of the documents in the set are clustered based on the concepts. A matrix that provides a summary of the documents most relevant to one such concept is generated by determining for each document a measure of similarity between a concept frequency occurrence and concept weights of each cluster. The matrix is populated with the calculated measures of similarity. Those documents associated with a threshold measure of similarity are identified as the most relevant documents to one such concept.

摘要： A computer-implemented system and method for generating document groupings is provided. A lexicon of terms extracted from a set of documents is generated. The lexicon includes a frequency of each extracted term within each document in the set. Concepts each having two or more of the extracted terms are generated. A subset of the documents in the set is selected based on the term frequencies. The subset of documents is grouped into clusters based on the concepts. A similarity of each document cluster is calculated with one or more documents based on a distance by summing the frequency of each term in that document and a weight of the cluster for each of the terms. The weights are updated until a rate of change for each cluster becomes constant.

摘要： A method for detecting and locating occurrence in a data stream of any complex string belonging to a predefined complex dictionary is disclosed. A complex string may comprise an arbitrary number of interleaving coherent strings and ambiguous strings. The method comprises a first process for transforming the complex dictionary into a simple structure to enable continuously conducting computationally efficient search, and a second process for examining received data in real time using the simple structure. The method may be implemented as an article of manufacture having a processor-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon for execution by a processor, causing the processor to match examined data to an object complex string belonging to the complex dictionary, where the matching process is based on equality to constituent coherent strings, and congruence to ambiguous strings, of the object complex string.

The consumer thereafter inputs a query related to a product that is received by a server. A server generates and returns a ranking of a plurality of products based on the set of weighting factors input by the consumer and stored data related to a plurality of products, as a response to the query.

A first component of the authority value is generated with reference to outbound links associated with the first document. The outbound links enable access to a first subset of the plurality of documents. A second component of the authority value is generated with reference to a second subset of the plurality of documents. Each of the second subset of documents represents a potential starting point for a user session. A third component of the authority value is generated representing a likelihood that a user session initiated by any of a population of users will end with the first document. The first, second, and third components of the authority value are combined to generate the authority value. At least one of the first, second, and third components of the authority value is computed with reference to user data relating to at least some of the outbound links and the second subset of documents.

By triggering on the combination of a detected capture condition followed by a detected stability condition, a clearer image of the environment of an interesting event is expected to be captured. The small size of the recall device makes it possible to integrate it into common portable consumer products, such as MP3 players, purses, clothing, hats, backpacks, necklaces, collars, and other human-wearable products.

摘要： In one embodiment, characteristics of signals received from Wi-Fi access points during a traversal of a number of drivable streets within a geographic area having a radius of one or more miles are determined, the characteristics of a given signal including a unique identifier of a Wi-Fi access point that transmitted the signal, a location where the signal was observed, and an observed signal strength at the location where the signal was observed. Using the characteristics, a reference database is built including records descriptive of Wi-Fi access points in the geographic area. To determine a current location of a mobile device, an observed signal strength of one or more Wi-Fi access points observed by the mobile device from the current location is determined and a current location of the mobile device is computed using at least the observed signal strength of the one or more Wi-Fi access points observed by the mobile device in comparison to information in the reference database.
