The perimeter spring structure is rectangular or square in cross-section and provides sufficient stiffness for comfortable seating on the edges of the mattress and is joined to the foam core by planar fabric elements that span the joint between them and are attached to both. The sleep area provides the softness and other salutary effects of a foam sleeping surface while the stiffer spring perimeter element provides the rigidity need for comfortable seating and wear resistance.

摘要： A box spring corner guard is disclosed which protects and reinforces the corner of a box spring. The box spring corner guard consists of a curved body having the shape of a 90 degree section of an imaginary cylinder with a concave inner surface and a convex outer surface. A locator flange extends from the concave inner surface adjacent the bottom end of the curved body. Strengthening ribs run along the length of the curved body to add rigidity. In one embodiment, the curved body also has a limit flange, similar to the locator flange, extending from the concave inner surface adjacent the top end of the curved body. The curved body is attached to the base of the box spring, but the curved body is not attached to the border wire.

摘要： Mattresses that have a point of attachment to an adjustable bed frame that provides a pivot point about which the mattress can pivot when rising to an inclined position. In one embodiment the mattress has a pivoting member extending transversely through the mattress and provides a pivot point about which one portion of the mattress can pivot in relation to another portion of the mattress. By placing the member about midway through the mattress, one half of the mattress can pivot relative to the other half of the mattress, while the center point of the mattress is held in place. By pinning the member to the frame, the center of the mattress is held against the frame even when one portion of the mattress is inclined relative to the other. This prevents or ameliorates the mattress tendency to lift off the frame when the frame pivots into an inclined position.
