    • In one embodiment, a transceiver may set a first receive frequency of a first channel of the transceiver and a second receive frequency of a second channel of the transceiver. The transceiver may receive, during a first time interval, a first radio frequency (RF) signal on the first channel. The transceiver may determine that a first measured value indicative of a first detectable received RF signal on the first channel exceeds a first predetermined threshold, and in response, receive a first data frame on the first channel. The transceiver may receive, during a second time interval, a second RF signal on the second channel. The transceiver determine that a second measured value indicative of a second detectable received RF signal on the second channel exceeds the first predetermined threshold, and in response, receive a second data frame on the second channel.

    • In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an instruction for a transceiver of a device to transmit a first data frame; in response to the instruction, generating a first control signal for a switch to couple the transceiver to a first antenna for transmission of the first data frame by the transceiver via the first antenna; determining whether the transceiver has received within a pre-determined time interval after the transmission of the first data frame a second data frame containing an acknowledgement message confirming successful receipt of the first data frame by another device; and, if the transceiver has not received within the pre-determined time interval after the transmission of the first data frame the second data frame, then generating a second control signal for the switch to couple the transceiver to the second antenna for re-transmission of the first data frame by the transceiver via a second antenna.

    • A PLL frequency generator is disclosed for generating an output signal with a settable target frequency, comprising a) a voltage-controlled oscillator for generating the output signal depending on a control voltage, b) a switchable frequency divider, which is connected to the voltage-controlled oscillator and is designed to derive a frequency-divided signal whose instantaneous frequency depends on a value of an adjustable divisor, from the output signal c) a switchable delay unit, which is connected to the frequency divider and is designed to generate a delayed signal in that the frequency-divided signal is delayed by delay times that in each case depend on a control word and a control signal, and d) a phase detector, which is connected to the switchable delay unit and is designed to determine the phase difference between a reference signal and the delayed signal and to provide it for the generation of the control voltage. According to the invention, a calibration unit is provided, which is connected to the switchable delay unit and is designed to derive the control signal from the reference signal.

    • A frequency modulator is provided for generating an output signal with a frequency that is a function of a modulation signal, wherein the modulation signal can assume N≧2 different discrete modulation values, and a predetermined frequency value of the output signal is associated with each modulation value, containing: a) a closed phase locked loop with a loop filter for providing a first control voltage, with a voltage controlled oscillator for generating the output signal, and with a switchable frequency divider for deriving a frequency-divided signal, and b) a modulation unit that is designed to provide, at a first output, values of a divisor that are a function of the modulation signal, and at a second output, a second control voltage that is a function of the modulation signal, c) wherein the oscillator has a first control input connected to the loop filter and has a second control input connected to the second output of the modulation unit, and is designed to generate the output signal as a function of the first control voltage and the second control voltage, d) and wherein the frequency divider is connected to the first output of the modulation unit and is designed to derive the frequency-divided signal in such a manner that it has instantaneous frequencies that are a function of the divisor values. According to the invention, the modulation unit has a capacitive voltage divider with a center tap and is designed to provide the second control voltage at the center tap. The invention further concerns a transmitting/receiving device and an integrated circuit having such a frequency modulator.

    • A method of transmitting information in a WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) network and corresponding WLAN communication devices and integrated circuit chips are provided. A correction signal is used for compensating for a dc offset in a data signal containing at least part of the information to be transmitted. The correction signal is varied by making it taking different values. For each of the different values, a strength of an indicator signal indicative of the dc offset is determined. Based upon the determined strength, an optimum value of the correction signal is identified at which the dc offset is minimized. The value of the correction signal is set to the optimum value. Further, a method of transmitting information in a WLAN network is provided, including compensating for a first and second dc offset in a first and second data signal, respectively, using a first and second feedback loop, respectively.
