    • As a cooling structure, a cooling device has a configuration that comprises a mounting surface for a member to be cooled, a cooling fin provided on a rear surface side of the mounting surface, and a cooling passage for cooling the cooling fin with a liquid refrigerant, wherein the liquid refrigerant is caused to flow from a flow inlet to the cooling passage and is discharged from a discharge outlet. The cooling passage comprises a first surface provided with the cooling fin, a second surface opposing the first surface, and a wall portion provided between the first surface and the second surface and is configured into a channel longer than a channel connecting the flow inlet and the discharge outlet in a straight line. The wall portion has a first wall portion extending from the second surface to the first surface, and a second wall portion extending in parallel with the first wall portion from the first surface to a height exceeding a top portion of the first wall.

    • A computer system is composed of sending and receiving computers. The sending computer includes an encoder module encoding an internal representation of a structured document to generate an encoded document. The receiving computer includes a decoder module which receives the encoded document through a network, and decodes the encoded document to reproduce the internal representation. The encoder module lists texts and structures included within the structured document without duplication to thereby generate validation information, and incorporates the validation information into the encoded document. The decoder module includes a validation module which is responsive to the validation information to validate whether a data structure of the reproduced internal representation is in compliance with a predetermined document type declaration.

    • The present invention is intended to allow distribution of personal information to be managed on the basis of not only a personal information management policy defined by a personal information producer but also management policies of all apparatuses which handle personal information when the distribution of personal information is managed between apparatuses. In its configuration, personal information generation apparatus 1 encapsulates personal information together with a transmission policy to generate a personal information capsule which is transmitted to personal information utilization apparatus 2. Personal information utilization apparatus 2 receives and holds the personal information capsule for utilization. In this event, personal information generation apparatus 1 transmits a transmission policy defined by the personal information producer. Personal information utilization apparatus 2 in turn transmits a reception policy defined by a personal information user. Then, personal information generation apparatus 1 and personal information utilization apparatus 2 determine a contractual coverage in regard to personal information to be distributed, and generate contract information. Eventually, the personal information is distributed from personal information generation apparatus 1 to personal information utilization apparatus 2 based on the generated contract information.

A monitor monitors a call from a structured document processing generator to a structured document processor to have a test structured document. A structured document derivation system generates derived structured documents of the test structured document. The derived structured documents are sent to a testing device for testing the structured document processor. A test analyzer determines whether or not each derivative pattern can be accepted. When the processing of a structured document is requested, the test analyzer analyzes the document. When the structured document matches an unacceptable pattern, the document is replaced with an acceptable one.

    • A high power factor rectifier circuit, provided with switching sections connected to an AC power supply for converting an AC voltage to a DC voltage, is formed with a bypass circuit provided. The bypass circuit, when the voltage of the AC power supply becomes higher than the voltage across a smoothing capacitor provided on the DC output side, makes a charge current flowing from the AC power supply to the capacitor bypass the switching section by making the switching section out of conduction. Thus, a rectifier circuit is provided which can be safely operated without causing any damage, or with minimized damage, even though an inrush current flows at turning-on the power or at recovery from a power interruption.
