In one step, a first number of personal communication modes associated with the originating end is retrieved. A compatible personal communication mode from the first number of personal communication modes and the second number of personal communication modes is chosen to indicate the compatible personal communication mode to the terminating end.

摘要： A system and method for providing centralized control of one or more communication services, includes an Integrated Services Controller (ISC), which is in communication with any number of communications networks, such as the Public Switched Telephone Network or in the Internet. The ISC may be further configured to dynamically receive a Message Registration List (MRL) through an interactive exchange of commands with one or more communications services. This MRL may include one or more messages in which a particular communications service has a notification interest. The ISC may provide centralized processing for messages received from the communications services. Intelligent prioritization rules may be configurable by a communications service provider so as to affect the prioritization of the communications services by ISC.

摘要： A system and method for providing integrated control of communication services, which includes an Integrated Services Controller (ISC), which is configured to establish communications with any numbers of communications networks, such as The Public Switched Telephone Network or the Internet. Communications may be established with one or more communications services, which in turn provide classification criteria which includes variable parameters that define a capability of a particular communications service. Also received may be a Message Registration List (MRL), which registers with the ISC messages in which a particular communications service has a notification interest. Through these communications, the ISC may be configured to provide a centralized processing for messages received from various system entities so as to apply intelligent prioritization rules for each message processed.

The service session signals a second customer premises equipment device at a second party, and a request is made on behalf of one of the parties to provide a directed call return service. The method further includes submitting, to the first party service provider, an authorization from the first party that the second party may direct a return call through the first party service provider while allowing the first party service provider to direct any charges for the return call to the first party.
