摘要： A photonic crystal surface emitting laser array reduces the occurrence of reflected feedback light while also reducing input of leaking light. The photonic crystal surface emitting laser array includes a plurality of first photonic crystal regions that cause laser oscillation, a second photonic crystal region that causes light diffraction to occur in an out-of-plane direction, and a light absorber that is provided above the second photonic crystal region and that absorbs light having a wavelength λ. A radiation coefficient of each first photonic crystal region is smaller than a radiation coefficient of the second photonic crystal region.

摘要： An image area extract unit includes a modeling unit for generating a pixel evaluation model used for extraction, and an extract unit for extracting a characteristic portion from an original image using the pixel evaluation model. The modeling unit sequentially generates a plurality of partial polynomials according to a modified Group Method of Data Handling using a training image taken under the same condition under which the original image is taken and a supervisory image that designates the characteristic portion of the training image. Each of the generated partial polynomials is outputted to the extract unit in the form of its coefficients only when a square error satisfies a predetermined criterion. The extract unit calculates the feature values for each pixel of the original image using the pixel evaluation model, and defines the extractive area that includes the characteristic portion based on the feature values.

Output data from a circuit under test is supplied to a testing data-generating circuit and a non-periodic function transformation is performed so that testing data generated by the testing data generating circuit has a pseudo-random pattern. This test is repeated a predetermined number of times that is sufficient to finish all tests for checking the circuit under test. A mathematical function having non-periodic solutions can be realized by a simple rearrangement of various conductive lines so that is is not necessary to previously prepare patterns of testing data.
