    • A computer-readable medium stores a testing program that causes a computer having a storage device storing netmask lengths and address block utilization information associated with address blocks, to execute a process that includes acquiring first packets transmitted to a first apparatus, first addresses being regarded as transmission sources; referring to the storage device and acquiring a count of address blocks to which the first addresses belong and a netmask length; calculating based on the acquired address block count and netmask length, the netmask length less a bit count according to the number of the first addresses; referring to the storage device and selecting from among unused address blocks, an address block having a netmask length less than or equal to the calculated netmask length; and transmitting to a second apparatus, second packets obtained by setting the transmission sources of the first packets to second addresses in the selected address block.

    • A device includes a storage unit that stores in a predetermined unit an identifier acquired from a packet transmitted from a transmitting device in association with a source address. The transmitting device receives from each terminal device connected communicatable via a network a packet including a source address, an identifier generated by adding a numerical value every time a packet is sent by the terminal device, and a session ID, and converts and transmits the source address. The transmitting device and the terminal device are connected to the device via a different network. The device also includes a determining unit that determines whether the identifier stored has monotonically increased; and a detector that detects a source indicated by a certain source address to be the transmitting device, if the determining unit determines that the identifier for the certain source address has not monotonically increased.

    • In a relay device or the like in which a speed changes from a high speed to a low speed, a packet residence (packet transfer wait) occurs when a packet string in which packet intervals are shortened arrives. When a packet discard occurs before passing through the relay device or the like, a packet interval having been lengthened by the packet discard is shortened by the relay device or the like for transferring packets. When a packet discard occurs after passing through the relay device or the like, a packet interval having been lengthened by the packet discard remains unshortened for transferring packets. Therefore, by observing at terminals the packet discard and the packet interval on the occasion of the packet discard, whether the packet discard has occurred in the high speed section or the low speed section is specified.
