    • A bracket assembly for a car shaker vibrator that includes a vibrator mounting member that is pivotally connected by a pivot pin, in a hinged or clevis arrangement, to a wedge member. The wedge member includes the male portion of a Gardner type bracket that is adapted for engaging a mating female portion that is mounted on a railroad car. The vibrator mounting member may be selectively rotated between a first position and a second position. The vibrator mounting member is retained at the first position by a locating pin during the emptying of a railroad car during the selective operation of the car shaker vibrator. The vibrator mounting member is retained at the second position by the locating pin when the dislodgement of the male portion from the female portion is desired together with the selective and subsequent operation the car shaker vibrator. An intermediate position may be provided between the first position and the second position and used when needed.

    • A hydraulically driven rotary vibrator that includes a motor body and a pair of opposed housings. Each housing includes a shaft, and an eccentric weight that are journalled by a pair of anti-friction bearings. The shaft of each housing extends a selected distance beyond a first end of the housing. A gear is attached to the extending end of the shaft. The gears associated with each of the housings are aligned and meshed with each other interior of the motor plate. The gears and their associated shafts are rotated when a hydraulic fluid is introduced into a motor chamber formed in the motor plate. The eccentric weights may be selectively phased for producing a determined vibratory output.

    • This invention pertains to unidirectional vibration apparatus using resilient shock absorber mounting means to change multidirectional vibration into unidirectional vibration forces. Three embodiments pertain to the use of pressurized air for driving an eccentric weight at a desired speed. One embodiment employs a turbine which is carried between and by resilient disk members secured to mounting rings. A roller is driven by pressurized air and the vibrating apparatus is carried within and by a resilient ring. A ball vibrator also uses a resilient ring as a shock absorber. Two embodiments are shown with electric motors as a power source. In each embodiment the motor is carried by a ring mounted and secured to a resilient disk. One or more weights are carried on a shaft in axial alignment with the motor shaft.

    • A mounting bracket assembly for connecting a single rotary vibrator to a vibratory feeding device that includes an elastomer spacer member retained and sandwiched between a base plate and a vibrator mounting plate. The mounting plate assembly converts sinusoidal forces exerted by the rotary vibrator to predominantly linear impelling pulses that are in a direction that is perpendicular to a first surface of the base plate. The base plate may be attached to the vibratory feeding device directly or by an adjustable pivot assembly. The direction of movement of items carried on a surface of the vibratory feeding device is directly related to the direction of rotation of the rotary vibrator. The mounting bracket assembly may also include at least one isolation member for minimizing contact of the vibrator mounting plate and retaining members used therewith.

    • This invention pertains to cleaning apparatus for a conveyor belt. This cleaner employs gravitational force to apply vibratory action on the conveyor belt. A free-turning roller engages the inner surface of the returning extent of the conveyor belt at a point and position near the tail pulley. Four embodiments are shown. The first shows the motor and vibrated pulley disposed between the extents of belt. The second embodiment has the motor disposed below the return extent of belt. The third embodiment in which the belt extents are too close together to mount the motor between the belts has the motor disposed above the incomming belt. The fourth embodiment shows vibration isolators which are used to reduce any transmission of vibrations into the frame supporting the pulleys of the conveyor belt. The vibrated frame is carried in channel shaped guideways lined with a non-metallic liner so the vibrated frame is gravitationally movable in the channels.

    • This invention relates to a vibrating table where a rotary motion vibrator is used to provide vertical oscillations. In this table top arrangement the vibrator is secured to a frame or lower plate member preferably at or about its midpoint. This lower frame member is conventionally supported by a support base through vibration isolators such as coil springs provided at its corners. To at least two edges of this lower frame member are secured transfer pads which also are secured to the like edges of and carry the upper table top a spaced distance above the lower frame. The resulting vertical motion and frequency are equal or substantially equal at all portions of the table top and there is an absence of "dead spots." Conventional table tops of vibrating tables to which the vibrator is directly secured have a dead spot or spots and the amplitude is unequal causing the material or product thereon to walk or move to one side. Where the "dead spots" occur on conventional tables the material is neither moved or vibrated.

    • An expandable vibrator bracket for attaching a car-shaker vibrator to a female receptacle attached to a railroad car to be vibrated. The expandable bracket includes: a vibrator mounting member, a leg member, and a wedge base member. The vibrator mounting member supports the vibrator. The wedge base member further includes a first end, a second end, a first side, and a second side. The wedge plate includes an attaching end, a distal end, an interior side and an exterior side. The attaching end is coupled to the first end of the wedge base member for allowing the distal end to selectively move with respect to the second end of the wedge base member when acted upon by a spreading or expanding force. The second side of the wedge base member and the exterior side of the wedge plate simultaneously abut opposite interior surfaces of the female receptacle during selective urging by the spreading force for holding the expandable vibrator bracket in the female receptacle. The spreading force may include a linear type of wedge, a rotary wedge, springs. The subsequent removal of the spreading or expanding force allows for the removal of the collapsed vibrator bracket from the female receptacle.

    • A self-propelled and reversible compactor 10 includes a motor 12, a motor mounting plate 14, a tamper plate 16, a vibrator assembly 30, a driven pulley 38, a drive pulley 48, and a directional control arm 54. The vibrator assembly 30 is pivotally attached for selective pivotal positioning of a vibrator housing 36 of the vibrator assembly 30 at a first end 26 or a second end 28 of the compactor. The driven pulley 38 is mounted on a shaft 34 of the vibrator housing 36. The directional control arm 54 provides a manually operated control for providing the selective pivotal positioning of the vibrator housing 36. An endless flexible belt transmits the power from the drive pulley 48 to the driven pulley 38. Components mounted on the engaging end 58 of the directional control arm 54 engage one of the two tangential strands of a flexible endless belt 52 for pivotally displacing the vibrator housing 36 from the first end 26 to the second end. This pivotal displacement controls the direction of self-propelled movement of the compactor 10.
