摘要： A core of a cyclic structure represented by (—N—(CH2)n—)k is bonded to a dendrimer-type side chain with a specific branched structure at all nitrogen atoms in the core to produce a compound with a specific structure for producing a metal complex that exhibits a T1-reducing effect, and the resulting compound is coordinated to a metal ion that has a T1-reducing effect to obtain a metal complex that exhibits an excellent T1-reducing effect which is useful as an effective component of an MRI contrast agent and an MRI contrast agent using the same.

摘要： In a solution for forming electron-emitting regions of electron-emitting devices, the solution contains a metal carboxylate expressed by the following general formula (I), an organic solvent and/or water; (R(COO).sub.k).sub.m M (I) where k=numeral from 1 to 4, m=numeral from 1 to 4, and R=C.sub.n X.sub.2n+1-k where X=hydrogen or halogen (total number of hydrogen and halogen atoms is 2n+1), n=integer from 0 to 30, and M=metal. In a manufacture method of electron-emitting devices each provided between electrodes with a conductive film including an electron-emitting region, a process of forming the conductive film includes a step of coating and calcining the above solution. An image-forming apparatus is manufactured by using the electron-emitting devices. Variations in sheet resistance values of electron-emitting region-forming thin films and characteristics of the electron-emitting devices are reduced.

摘要： An apparatus for measuring a light absorpiton characteristic of a thin film is provided.The apparatus comprises (1) a liquid container containing a liquid on which surface a thin film is to be spread, (2) exciting light source for supplying an exciting light to be projected from below the liquid surface on to a measurement site of the thin film spread on the liquid surface, at such an incident angle that the exciting light reflects totally at the liquid surface, (3) a chopper for converting the exciting light into an intermittent exciting light before the exciting light reaches the measurement site of the thin film, (4) a probe light source for supplying probe light passing the measurement site or its vicinity, and (5) a detector for detecting an amount of deflection of the probe light having passed the measurement site or its vicinity. A method for measuring the light absorption characteristic of a thin film and an equipment for forming a monomolecular built-up film employing the above apparatus are also provided.
