    • A computer system with a physical computer having a physical processor, physical memory, virtual computer and virtual computer controller is disclosed. The virtual computer has its own processor and memory, which are virtual components that are provided by logically dividing the physical processor and memory, respectively. The virtual computer also has a page table storing a physical/virtual memory address correspondence relationship, and a protection object table for address management of a protected address space in the virtual memory. The controller includes a protection exception processing unit, protection exception save region, virtual/physical memory address converter, and instruction analyzer. Upon execution of protection exception processing, the controller compares an instruction address at which was generated the protection exception processing to an instruction address of protection exception information saved. If these are identical, a pseudo-instruction is used to execute the protection exception processing, thereby reducing the total processing amount required.

    • This method of starting a variable-speed induction motor utilizes a speed control of the induction motor by varying the output frequency from a cycloconverter. The method comprises applying an output from the cycloconverter to the secondary winding of the induction motor while the primary winding of the induction motor is short-circuited during the start-up of the motor, applying a voltage lower than the line voltage to the primary winding when the induction motor is operating within an intermediate speed range, and applying the line voltage within a speed region near the rated speed. This method enables speed control over a wide range, and provides a sufficiently large start-up torque for the induction motor.

    • A USB port shared control method executed by a hypervisor controlling port sharing among virtual machines and having a physical USB host controller including a physical register, the virtual machines each including a virtual USB host controller having a virtual register. The method includes performing sharing by: selectively allocating the physical register to the virtual register of a subject virtual USB host controller provided in a subject virtual machine of the plurality of virtual machines to occupy and unitize the USB port by the subject virtual machine, and directly reading or writing of the physical register by the subject virtual machine via the subject virtual USB host controller, to thereby allow the subject virtual USB host controller to directly control the physical USB host controller. More particularly, the allocating, reading and writing are switched from subject virtual machine to subject virtual machines to facilitate sharing.
