摘要： A liquid crystal display (LCD) apparatus includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer and a backlight assembly. The first substrate includes a display part and a sensor part. The sensor part is disposed in a peripheral area of the display part and senses external light. The second substrate is disposed opposite to the first substrate. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The backlight assembly is disposed adjacent to the second substrate to expose the first substrate and to provide light. A light detecting function of the sensor part may be increased, so that the backlight may be used effectively and the power consumption of the display apparatus may be reduced.

The first pixel region includes a first transistor and a first capacitor and is covered by a first pixel electrode. The apparatus includes a second pixel region adjacent to the first pixel region and defined by an intersection between a second gate line and the data line. The second pixel region is covered by a second pixel electrode. The first gate line is positioned between the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode. A second capacitor is in the second pixel region, and the second capacitor includes a first transparent conductive layer and a second transparent conductive layer. A transparent shielding portion extends from the second transparent conductive layer of the second capacitor toward the first pixel region to overlap with the first gate line.

摘要： A touch sensing apparatus includes: a sense unit connected to a sense scan line and a sense line; a location detection unit that detects a location of a touch from a sense signal transmitted from the sense unit through the sense line; and a determination and trigger unit that determines whether a touch is sensed from the sense signal, generates a trigger signal that instructs whether or not to operate the location detection unit, and transmits the trigger signal to the location detection unit. The determination and trigger unit includes a logic operation circuit that generates a trigger signal for operation of the location detection unit when the sense signal implies that a touch is sensed while a sense driving signal is applied to at least one of a plurality of sense scan lines. The location detection unit is operated at a minimum to minimize power consumption.
