    • A method for monitoring a sensor function by repeatedly acquiring data records including sensor-specific calibration data; by storing the acquired data records; by analyzing changes of the calibration data over time using the stored data records; and by determining time or time weighted with a load factor until the next calibration is due, using at least the changes of the calibration data over time. The resulting time or the determined time weighted with a load factor can, for example, be output in suitable form directly after determination, thereby allowing for a long-term planning of calibration, and/or it can be stored as a date or a remaining time. A comparison with a time signal or a count-down of the remaining time allows at the due date to output a request, or prompt, signal, optionally with a desired lead time.

    • A retractable assembly, comprising: a housing; a media connection with complementary connecting means; an immersion tube; and a probe provided in the immersion tube. The probe has a probe head on its end facing the medium, wherein, in the service position, the probe head is arranged within a treatment chamber formed in the housing, wherein the immersion tube is divided into three regions, and, indeed, a upper region facing away from the containment, a middle region, on which a sealing system is provided, and a lower region facing the containment, wherein the sealing system is so embodied that in no position of the immersion tube does an exchange of medium or impurities from the drive to the treatment chamber, or vice versa, occur.

    • The reactor core of the plant has tubular vertically movable control rods moved by a pressurized flowing coolant. Each control rod so extends around a tubular guide rod which is immobile relatively to the reactor core as to leave a first annular gap between the control rod and the guide rod. The guide rod interior is operative as a first pressure chamber to which the pressurized coolant is supplied. The top end of each control rod is closed and has a vertical spindle which extends into the guide rod interior and co-operates with the guide rod to bound a second annular gap. At least one first restrictor is disposed in the first annular gap and at least one second restrictor is provided in the second annular gap. A second pressure chamber is present between the two restrictors. The coolant inflowing to the guide rod therefore returns by way of the second annular gap, the second pressure chamber and the first annular chamber to the pressure vessel which extends around the reactor core. Control means are provided to enable pressure surges to be produced as required in the coolant in the first pressure chamber.

    • The nuclear reactor installation is provided with a double-wall pressure vessel which is surrounded by a heat sink. A flood tank is provided outside the vessel in order to supply air as a heat-insulating agent to the chamber defined by the pressure chamber wall during normal operation and to supply water as a heat-conductive agent in response to a disturbance in reactor core cooling. The cover on the pressure vessel is also provided with a chamber to which air or water can be delivered. A closure member which can be activated by fusible element is incorporated in the cover to permit flooding of the cover chamber in response to an excessive heat within the pressure vessel.
