摘要： There is provided a method for detecting a machine-readable code that has been applied onto a mailpiece in a selected area of a surface of the mailpiece, whereby the selected area is at least 1 cm away from at least one nearby edge area of the mailpiece. An exemplary method comprises checking for the presence of at least two parallel lines in the selected area. The exemplary method also comprises beginning a detection of modules of the machine-readable code comprising a data-matrix code at a predefinable distance from one of the lines.

摘要： There is provided a method for detecting a machine-readable code that has been applied onto a mailpiece. An exemplary method comprises checking in at least one area of a surface of the mailpiece whether at least two parallel lines are present in the at least one area of the surface, at least two of the parallel lines being at a distance from each other that corresponds to a module width, at least one of the lines having a width that equals the module width. The exemplary method also comprises detecting modules of a data matrix code, in at least one partial area of the surface that is adjacent to one of the lines, taking into account the detection of the at least two parallel lines, the data matrix code having modules of the module width.

摘要： Digital franking notes generated in customer systems and comprise cryptographic information that is used for verifying the postage indicia in local payment assurance systems. A data key used for generating the postage indicia is generated in a value transfer center and transmitted via a central payment assurance system to the local payment assurance systems, which import the key in order to verify franking notes generated using the key. The local payment assurance systems notify the value transfer center of successful key imports. After a successful import, the value transfer center issues a data key to the customer systems and postage indicia are verified by decrypting the contained cryptographic information in the local payment assurance systems.
