摘要： A display screen, in particular a color display screen for a cathode ray tube, comprises a phosphor layer which includes a phosphor composition of a phosphor with a coating comprising a water-soluble organic binder, which is selected from the group formed by the polyurethanes, polyacrylamides, polyamide resins, etherified melamine compounds and melamine-formaldehyde compounds, and etherified urea-formaldehyde resins, and comprising oxygen compounds of one or more elements selected from the group formed by the alkaline earth elements and zinc. Important advantages obtained are a substantially improved sieving behavior of the phosphor powder, an increased adhesion of pigment particles to the phosphor grains, an improved suspension stability as well as an improved adhesion of the phosphor to the display screen glass.

摘要： A plasma picture screen is disclosed. In one embodiment, an AC plasma picture screen with a coplanar arrangement which has an enhanced luminance is provided. A layer, which has a high reflection in the wavelength range of the plasma emission (145 to 200 nm) and a high transmission in the visible wavelength range, is provided on the front plate. The front plate includes a glass plate on which a dielectric layer, a protective layer, a reflective layer are provided. The reflective layer reflects UV light emitted in the direction of the front plate back towards phosphors. The optical properties of the UV light reflecting layer are realized with inorganic particles with a particle diameter of between 200 nm and 500 nm and a layer thickness from 0.5 &mgr;m to 5 &mgr;m, or with agglomerates of inorganic particles with a particle diameter of between 10 nm and 200 nm and a layer thickness of 0.2 &mgr;m to 10 &mgr;m.

The method comprises the following steps: a) providing a clean substrate inside an evacuated evaporation chamber; b) evaporating lead oxide (PbO) from a first crucible to form a seeding layer on the surface of the substrate; c) affecting upon the seeding layer such that only tetragonal lead oxide forms the seeding layer and/or such that the initially grown orthorhombic lead oxide forming the seeding layer is transformed into tetragonal lead oxide; and d) continuing to evaporate lead oxide until the final thickness of the photo-sensitive layer has been deposited onto the substrate. As a result the method yields a photo-responsive device comprising a photo-sensitive layer of lead oxide, which entirely consists of tetragonal lead oxide.
