    • A pressure regulator assembly for a fluid system includes a housing having at least one cavity therein and a valve seat disposed in the at least one cavity and having an aperture extending therethrough. The pressure regulator assembly also includes a movable valve member disposed in the at least one cavity of the housing. The valve member has a closed position to engage the valve seat to prevent fluid from flowing into the at least one cavity and an open position to disengage the valve seat to allow fluid to flow into the at least one cavity. The pressure regulator assembly further includes a biasing mechanism disposed in the at least one cavity to bias the valve member toward the valve seat to close the aperture. The valve seat and the valve member and the biasing mechanism are aligned linearly along an axis of the valve housing.

    • A security system and method for granting multi-level access to data items in a distributed network. An architecture is provided, comprising: an authentication server that provides access to a web portal using a web services based communication framework; a system for securely establishing security credentials for an end user logging into the authentication server system; an access directory that obtains the security credentials for the end user from the authentication server, generates a set of XML credential data based on a predefined XML schema, and returns the XML credential data to the authentication server; and wherein the authentication server passes the XML credential data to the web portal in order to grant access to the end user for data items accessible via the web portal.

    • Skin disorders such as, for example, atopic dermatitis, dyshidrosis, eczema, lichen planus, psoriasis, and vitiligo, are treated by applying high doses of ultraviolet light to diseased regions of a patient's skin. The dosage exceeds 1 MED as determined for the particular patient and may range from about 1 MED to about 20 MED or higher. The ultraviolet light has a wavelength within the range of about 295 nanometers to about 320 nanometers. High doses of ultraviolet light are preferably restricted to diseased tissue areas. A specialized handpiece provides a beam profile especially suitable for application of controlled doses. A specialized delivery device is useful for UV treatment of tissue within the mouth.
