摘要： The present invention provides resins that can be used as a tie layer in a multilayer structure and to multilayer structures including one or more tie layers formed from such resins. In one aspect, a resin for use as a tie layer in a multilayer structure that includes a high density polyethylene having a density greater than 0.960 g/cm3, wherein the high density polyethylene includes 1 to 99 weight percent of the resin, a maleic anhydride grafted high density polyethylene, wherein the maleic anhydride grafted high density polyethylene includes 1 to 99 weight percent of the resin, and a catalyst including at least one Lewis acid.

摘要： The present invention provides coated films and packages formed from such films. In one aspect, a coated film comprises (a) a film comprising (i) a first layer comprising from 70 to 100 percent by weight of a polyethylene having a density 0.930 g/cm3 or less and a peak melting point of less than 126° C.; (ii) a second layer comprising from 60 to 100 percent by weight polyethylene having a density of 0.905 to 0.970 g/cm3 and a peak melting point in the range of 100° C. to 135° C.; and (iii) at least one inner layer between the first layer and the second layer comprising from 40 to 100 percent by weight of a polyethylene having a density from 0.930 to 0.970 g/cm3 and a peak melting point in the range of 120° C. to 135° C., wherein the polyethylene is a medium density polyethylene or a high density polyethylene; and (b) a coating on an outer surface of the second layer of the film comprising a crosslinked polyurethane, wherein the coating is substantially free of isocyanate groups. In some embodiments, the coated film is thermally resistant when subjected to a W-fold test at a temperature of at least 230° F., and/or has a gloss of at least 70 units at 60°.

摘要： The present disclosure relates to a method of promoting optimal stretching of stretch film during a wrapping operation, which method comprises at least the following steps. First a resin suitable for making stretch films is selected. Then a dispersed agent is selected, preferably one which has a refractive index similar to the selected resin such that when a film is made comprising the resin and the dispersed agent, the film will appear somewhat clear. The dispersed agent is then mixed with the resin and a film is formed from the resin containing the dispersed agent. Finally, a load is manually wrapped using such film, wherein during wrapping, the film is stretched to a level where the film becomes more opaque.
