摘要： Systems and methods for performing User Plane (UP) path selection or reselection over a communications network with a 3rd party entity, and for notifying network entities of UP changes in a communications network, are disclosed. The method includes: receiving an application program interface based request for UP path selection from the 3rd party entity; performing a validation and authorization procedure with the request; transmitting a UP path selection configuration request to a Control Plane Function that maintains configuration data; obtaining a reference number confirming the UP path selection configuration request; and installing the UP path selection according to the reference number.

The method also includes sharing the optimized operating parameter with the external base station.

摘要： Methods for quality of service monitoring, policy enforcement, and charging in a communications network, are disclosed. The methods include mapping quality of service parameters to measured parameters of a real-time video or packet data unit flow. The mapping may be used to monitor bursty traffic to adhere to quality of service requirements, perform traffic shaping, and for use in reporting certain network events. The measured parameters of real-time packet data unit flow include a first bit rate measured over a short-term measurement window and a second bit rate measured over a long-term measurement window. The short-term and long-term measurement windows are differently sized.
