    • Provided is an antenna which has a small-sized planar constitution as can be easily mounted on a small-sized radio device and which can form a principal beam having a vertical polarization in directions of low and high elevation angles.On the surface of a substrate 11, slot elements 13A and 13B having a length of about one half wavelength are arranged in parallel at a predetermined distance d1, and a reflecting plate 14 is arranged at a predetermined distance h from the mounting face of the slot elements 13A and 13B.     • A modulating device capable of generating an OFDM signal and having a drastically improved frequency use efficiency. The modulating device has modulators (6, 8 (11, 13, 106, 108, 111, 113)) for modulating a signal to be modulated and having a Nyquist roll-off frequency characteristic with a carrier frequency having a difference two times the Nyquist frequency and combiners (10(15, 110, 115)) for generating modulation output having a speed two times that of the signal to demodulated and the same Nyquist roll-off slope as the signal to be modulated by combining the outputs of the modulators (6, 8 (11, 13, 106, 108, 111, 113)). Thus a double speed wave can be superposed on the same frequency without varying the roll-off slope of the Nyquist characteristic, and therefore an OFDM signal (19) having a drastically improved frequency use efficiency is provided.

A transmission/reception method according to an embodiment is a transmission/reception method of transmitting and receiving data between a transmission device 1 with a plurality of transmitting antennas and a reception device 2 with a receiving antenna, and includes: a generating step of generating, by the transmission device 1 or the reception device 2, characteristics of a plurality of pseudo propagation channels on a basis of characteristics of a plurality of actual propagation channels between the plurality of transmitting antennas and the receiving antenna, the characteristics of the plurality of pseudo propagation channels being characteristics similar to frequency characteristics to an extent that the frequency characteristic can be approximated with respect to the characteristics of the plurality of actual propagation channels; a transmitting step of creating, by the transmission device 1, one or more data to be transmitted by reflecting the characteristics of the plurality of pseudo propagation channels to a plurality of parallel and independent data, and transmitting the one or more data from the plurality of transmitting antennas as radio waves; and a receiving step of extracting, by the reception device 2, the plurality of parallel and independent data from one or more received data received as the radio waves by the receiving antenna on a basis of the characteristics of the plurality of pseudo propagation channels.

    • The present invention is a transmission/reception method in which a reception device measures propagation path characteristics of a communication propagation path, a transmission device generates, based on a measurement result of the propagation path characteristics, a plurality of pseudo propagation path characteristics having propagation path characteristics similar to the propagation path characteristics so as to have low mutual correlation, the transmission device generates a data group including a plurality of parallel and independent data in the same number as the plurality of pseudo propagation path characteristics in a baseband on a transmitting side, obtains a transmission signal by synthesizing a plurality of superimposed data generated by superimposing the pseudo propagation path characteristics on the data one by one, and transmits a plurality of pseudo propagation path characteristic information relating to the plurality of pseudo propagation path characteristics and the transmission signal, and the reception device receives the plurality of pseudo propagation path characteristic information transmitted antecedently from the transmission device and a communication signal transmitted subsequently, and individually extracts the plurality of data from the communication signal based on the plurality of pseudo propagation path characteristic information.
