    • Provided is an antenna which has a small-sized planar constitution as can be easily mounted on a small-sized radio device and which can form a principal beam having a vertical polarization in directions of low and high elevation angles.On the surface of a substrate 11, slot elements 13A and 13B having a length of about one half wavelength are arranged in parallel at a predetermined distance d1, and a reflecting plate 14 is arranged at a predetermined distance h from the mounting face of the slot elements 13A and 13B. On the back of the substrate 11, parasitic elements 15A to 15D are made of a copper foil pattern and are arrayed to intersect the slot elements 13A and 13B at right angles. A switching element 16A is connected with the parasitic elements 15A and 15B, and a switching element 16B is connected with the parasitic elements 15C and 15D.

    • A portable wireless unit capable of ensuring high speed, large capacity communication by lowering the correlation coefficient between antennas under various use states of a user. An antenna element (1) is arranged outside from the upper end of a case (4) on the side opposite to the display section (23) of the case, an antenna element (2) is arranged in parallel with and on the same side of the antenna element (1) while spaced apart in the width direction, and an antenna element (3) is arranged in parallel with the antenna element (1) from the display section (23) side spaced apart from the antenna element (1) in the thickness direction. The antenna element (1) is connected with a transmitter/receiver (14), and any one of the antenna element (2) or (3) is selected by controlling a high frequency switch (11) by angle information from a gravity sensor (22) and connected with the transmitter/receiver (14). A receiving signal is amplified by receiving circuits (18, 19) through the transmitter/receiver (14, 15) and then separated at a demodulating section (20) thus extracting reception information.

    • The objective of the present invention is to provide a connection cable that serves as an external antenna for a radio apparatus, and whose antenna performance is not deteriorated in the use state by an adverse affect attributable to the near proximity of a human body.According to the present invention, an antenna device, integrally formed with first connection means, which is to be connected to a radio apparatus, second connection means, which is to be connected to a peripheral device, and a connection cable and an antenna element, which are located in between and which transmit a plurality of signals from the radio apparatus to the peripheral device, includes: first relay means, located at a middle position in the connection cable, for relaying the plurality of signals; the antenna element, located between the second connection means and the first relay means; and a coaxial line, located between the first connection means and the first relay means for transmitting, to the radio apparatus, an antenna reception signal that has been received at the antenna element and has been extracted by the first relay means, wherein the antenna element serves as an external antenna for the radio apparatus.
