摘要： The disclosure relates to recombinant adult human apohemoglobin (apo-rHb) in which the stability has been increased by replacement of an amino acid with a counterpart from another organism, such as a deep sea diving mammal. This mutated apo-rHb may be more stable and/or give higher production yields than unmutated adult human apo-rHb. The mutated apo-rHb may be produced in microorganisms, such as E. coli or yeast cells, or animal erythroid cells. Some apo-rHb of the present disclosure may be used as part of a blood substitute.

摘要： A replacement ball joint assembly (10) adapted to be pressed into a previously used and possibly distorted receiving hole (26) in a suspension component such as a control arm (28). A socket housing (12) of the assembly (10) includes a plurality of generally annular, concentric knurls (36) each having a respective crest portion (38) and separated one from another by intervening relief grooves (40). The crest portions (38) of the knurls (36) may be tapered so as to provide a lead-in feature to minimize misalignment during a press-in installation operation. The knurls (36) are preferably softer than the control arm material so that they yield during press-in rather than further disfiguring or enlarging the receiving hole (26). Displaced material from the crest portions (38) of the knurls (36) flows into the relief grooves (40).

The document comprises a substrate, a light reflective layer disposed over the substrate, a light diffusive layer disposed over the reflective layer, and bearer information overprinted on the reflective and diffusive layers. The diffusive layer has a diffusive background pattern that segments the reflective layer into a reflective background pattern comprising a plurality of reflective elements that interfere with the bearer information on a copy of the document. As a result, the diffusive background pattern allows the bearer information to become more readable on the document original by providing contrast to the bearer information and reducing the glare from light reflected from the reflective layer, while the reflective background pattern renders the bearer information unreadable on the document copy.
