A short distance communication module utilizes weaker radio waves than the radio waves used by the standard communication module, in order to establish communication with another wireless communication device. This arrangement effectively prevents leakage of the setting parameters to any third person who is beyond the communicable range of the short distance communication module, thus ensuring security for settings in the wireless communication device in a wireless environment.

摘要： A printing device of the present invention has an additional function of switching over connection with two wireless networks. The printing device enters a user's wireless LAN based on first setting information, while establishing connection with a maker's wireless LAN based on second setting information to communicate with a printer, which is one of additional devices newly entering the user's wireless LAN. In response to a requirement from the printer, the printing device temporarily disconnects from the user's wireless LAN and enters the maker's wireless LAN to transmit setting information relating to the user's wireless LAN to the printer. This arrangement desirably relieves the labor of the user for settings in the additional devices to establish connection with the wireless network.

摘要： The present invention is a printer controller furnished with a processor for exclusively executing a first task (printing task) for controlling a print engine, a second task (communication task) for controlling communication with host computers, and a third task (language task) for generating image data. These tasks are assigned priorities of execution in the order of the printing task, the communication task, and the language task. When there is a request for the execution of a task with a higher priority during the execution of a task with a lower priority, the processor executes the higher priority task whose execution has been requested instead of the lower priority task currently being executed.
