    • The fixing device includes: a fixing member including a conductive layer and fixing toner onto a recording medium with the conductive layer self-heated by electromagnetic induction; a drive unit rotationally driving the fixing member; a magnetic field generating member generating an alternate-current magnetic field intersecting with the conductive layer; a magnetic path forming member being in contact with an inner peripheral surface of the fixing member, forming a magnetic path of the alternate-current magnetic field, and transmitting heat to the fixing member by being self-heated by electromagnetic induction; an induction member that is in contact with an inner peripheral surface of the magnetic path forming member, that induces magnetic field lines and that diffuses heat; and an elastic member having force in a direction to press the magnetic path forming member and the induction member against the inner peripheral surface of the fixing member.

    • A fixing device includes: a rotating member supporting section supporting a first rotating member rotatably and movable in direction in which the first rotating member approaches and leaves a second rotating member; a compression spring pushing the rotating member supporting section in the direction of approaching the second rotating member; and a pressing member pressing the compression spring to the rotating member supporting section. The device further includes: a first spring contact member contacting the compression spring and movable in a compression-and-expansion direction of the compression spring relative to the rotating member supporting section; a first adjustment screw adjusting a position of the first spring contact member; a second spring contact member contacting the compression spring and movable in a direction inclined to the compression-and-expansion direction, relative to the pressing member; and a second adjustment screw adjusting a position of the second spring contact member relative to the pressing member.

    • A driving mechanism includes: a first contacting member that comes into contact with a contacted member; a supporting member that supports the first contacting member and is reciprocatably provided, the supporting member moving the first contacting member into contact with or retracts from the contacted member; a cam that reciprocates the supporting member; and a driving force transmission member that is provided to transmit a driving force to the cam, the driving force transmission member is engaged with the cam by transmit a first driving force, and is disengaged from the cam by a second driving force. In the driving mechanism, the second driving force is applied to the driving force transmission member after the cam is stopped in a state where the cam comes into contact with the supporting member on a small radius end of the cam.
