摘要： A magnetic disk drive device that includes a disk-shaped medium with a magnetic film formed on a surface for recording or reproducing information, and a magnetic head for recording on and reproducing information from the disk-shaped medium. The disk-shaped medium has a data recording region and a control signal recording region. The data recording region is impressed to have convex recording regions for recording data and concave guard bands for separating adjacent recording regions. The control signal recording region has impressed concavities and convexities representing tracking marks (for effecting tracking control of the magnetic head), track number indicating marks and track numbers (for identifying the tracks), and clock marks dividing one circumference into equal intervals along a path of angular movement of the magnetic head. The disk-shaped medium has reduced track pitch and increased recording capacity because the concave guard bands can be very narrow without inducing crosstalk, and the tracking marks, track number indicating marks, and clock marks are impressed as concavities and convexities along the path of angular movement of the magnetic head.

摘要： A communication system which is capable of proper cipher communications with many and unspecific parties and of making all the entities share a common key and which does not require the change of its own secret information even if the public information is altered for the security purposes. In the communication system, a shared cipher key is changeable with only the change of a control variable of a server without the change of code figures of clients. Accordingly, the system operation to change the shared cipher key is possible at a short-time internal, which significantly improve the security of the cipher system. In addition, with the server control variable being set to a specific value, a client group belonging to a server can share the same cipher key. Thus, an in-group cipher is decipherable with only the server control in particular situations such as urgent situations.

Additionally, during a seek mode of the apparatus, a head that was positioned as a result of the tracking control is moved to a neighboring track of the disc recording medium. The seek mode uses the information obtained during the tracking mode to correct any disturbance frequencies occurring in synchronism with the rotational frequency of the disc recording medium, even if the head travels over a large distance.

摘要： A data for measuring deviation between a recording head and a playback head easily for correctly reproducing data despite such deviation. A playback signal amplitude detection circuit 23 detects the amplitude of playback signals of test data from a playback amplifier 15, while adders 51, 52 cumulatively sum the amplitude values of playback signals in a pre-set group of sectors and those in another pre-set sector of groups on a magnetic disc 21 supplied from the playback signal amplitude detection circuit 23. A subtractor 50 computes a difference between a first sum value from the adder 51 and a second sum value from the adder 52 and routes the difference to a controller 11. The controller detects deviation between the recording head and the playback head from the difference value. When recording or reproducing actual data, the controller 11 causes the position of the recording head or the playback head to be corrected on the basis of the detected deviation.
