摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate, an opposite substrate and a liquid crystal display layer. The array substrate includes a pixel electrode and a lower reactive mesogen layer. The pixel electrode includes a plurality of slit portions disposed on a plurality of domains in different directions. The lower reactive mesogen layer is disposed on the pixel electrode to induce an inclined direction of liquid crystal molecules. The opposite substrate includes an upper substrate. An upper reactive mesogen layer is disposed on a common electrode of the opposite substrate. The liquid crystal layer includes liquid crystal molecules arranged to have a pretilt angle between a surface of the lower reactive mesogen layer and a surface of the upper reactive mesogen layer.

The liquid crystal layer comprises a liquid crystal composition that includes a first class having at least one fluorine atom, and a second class containing a neutral compound. The second class includes a first sub-class and a second sub-class. The first sub-class contains a liquid crystal compound having at least one selected from an alkyl group and an alkoxy group having C1 to C5 in a terminal group thereof. The second sub-class contains a liquid crystal compound having an alkenyl group having C1 to C5 in terminal groups thereof. The second sub-class is contained in a content of about 7 wt % or less of a total content of the liquid crystal composition.

If the neutral liquid crystal compound includes an alkenyl group at the terminal group, the liquid crystal composition includes less than 7 wt % of the neutral crystal compound including the alkenyl group. The present invention also discloses a liquid crystal display including the aforementioned liquid crystal composition.
