    • A trough includes an elongate trough body and at least one elongate support element. The trough body includes at least one longitudinal side wall portion and a bottom portion which are integral with one another, or attached to one another along respective longitudinal edges. The support element extends along the outer face of the side wall portion. The support element may be restrained from moving outward, away from a longitudinal trough centerline, by connecting a restraint located inside the trough to the support element. The side wall portion is maintained upright partly by tension in the support element or in the restraint. In one embodiment, a plastics sheet material is bent into a U-shaped animal feed trough with opposite side walls supported upright by tension in longitudinal supporting wires and transverse restraint wires, the ends of which connect to the support wires through respective perforations in the side walls.

    • A freestanding trough has an elongate trough body 12 and transverse restraints 14. The trough body has a bottom portion 16 integrally formed with two side wall portions 18 from a resilient semi-rigid sheet. The restraints 14 extends transversely across the inside of the trough, intermediate the ends of the trough body 23, lower than upper edges of the side wall portions but higher than the bottom portion. The side wall portions 18 are restrained from moving outward, away from a longitudinal centreline of the trough, at least in part by a tension in the restraint 14 and the side wall portions are maintained upright in part by the tension in the restraint, and in part by the resilient semi-rigidity of the sheet.

    • An outrigger, for carrying an electric wire at a distance outward from a support, comprises a first elongate arm (512). A first support device (513B) at a distal end of the arm is adapted for suspending a portion of the wire (517B). The outrigger is suspended from a support, e.g. from a support wire (516) carried on a post (515), by a second support device (520) at a proximal end of the arm. When the outrigger is suspended by the second support device and the wire is suspended from the first support device, the outrigger is movable, from a rest position in which the arm extends outwardly from the support, to move the first support device and the wire toward the support when the first support device or the wire is impacted in a direction toward the support, and afterwards to move the outrigger back to the rest position.

    • An outrigger for supporting an elongate electrical conductor from a support. The outrigger has a first elongate limb 11 and a second elongate limb 12. An elongate electric conductor 13 is suspended from a first support device 14 located at a distal end 15 of the first limb 11. In use, the second limb 12 is attached by a first connector 16 to a length portion of an elongate element 18 so that the second limb 12 is rotatable about an axis that is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the elongate element 18. The first limb 11 is connected to the second limb 12 by a second connector 24. The first limb 11 is rotatable relative to the second limb 12 about a pivot axis of the second connector 24. A restrictor 36 limits rotation of the first limb with respect to the second limb about the pivot axis.
