摘要： To provide a stripe pattern matching system enabling to verify minutia correspondence between a searching stripe pattern and a filed stripe pattern independent of position or direction of the searching stripe pattern, correspondence value between them is evaluated by comparing their distances, directions or relations to their each neighboring minutiae by a pairing examination means (16). The most appropriate rotation angle and the most appropriate shifting coordinates for adjusting the searching stripe pattern to the filed stripe pattern is obtained by selecting a most appropriate axial candidate giving the most concentrated coordinate deviations referring to deviation distributions of correspondence values accumulated on a deviation plane memory (18) by applying each axial candidate as the coordinate adjustment reference. Therefore, the most appropriate coordinate adjustment can be performed even when either or both of absolute direction and position cannot be specified, in the invention.

摘要： A reliable uninterruptible DC power supply device. The DC backup power supply device includes an AC/DC converter, a DC/DC converter, voltage step-up/down choppers and a battery connected to a DC path of a main circuit connected with a load via a switch, and a microcomputer. In the device, under control of the microcomputer, the voltage step-up/down choppers are first operated under a condition that the MOS FET was turned OFF for self diagnosis of the backup power supply device. Next, the switch is turned ON to execute the remaining self diagnosis. The DC backup power supply device can execute its self diagnosis with a reduced likelihood of danger of exerting an adverse effect on the main circuit and also can exhibit a reliable uninterruptible power supply function.

摘要： A device for removing an adhered foreign substance, such as chewing gum, from surfaces employs a reciprocating scraper that separates the substance from the surface to be cleaned. A liquid, such as cleaning solution or solvent, is optionally discharged in the vicinity of the end of the scraper to augment the separation. A vacuum device draws air and loosened matter into an opening in the nozzle and traps it in a container. Optionally, the vacuum device is attached to a nozzle movable away from and toward the scraper by pushing a handle. When the nozzle moves toward the scraper, it activates the vacuum device.
