    • Example embodiments provide a mouse with a stabilizer. In particular embodiments, the stabilizer includes a U-shaped body which attaches to the bottom of the mouse so that the bottom surface of the U-shaped body forms a horizontal plane with the bottom surface of the mouse. In one embodiment, the U-shaped body includes a heel-rest portion and a pair of leg portions, one of which includes a thumb-rest and one of which includes a finger-rest. The leg portions define an opening for an opto-electric sensor such as a laser. In another embodiment, the stabilizer attaches to the rear of the mouse but does not extend forward to provide a thumb-rest or a finger-rest. In some embodiments, the stabilizer is fixedly attached or formed as part of the mouse, whereas in other embodiments it is detachable.

    • A high efficiency multi-image scanning method is disclosed. It involves the use of a special scanning window, or panel, containing a plurality of rectangular fields provided therein. The scanning window also contains a plurality of fiducial marks which associates each rectangular field, respectively, with a pre-defined location relative to the fiducial mark and a pre-defined scanning area. Prior to the scanning operation, a plurality of documents to be scanned are placed inside the rectangular fields. A pre-scan operation is performed to find and identify the fiducial mark. Then the scanner is moved to a selected rectangular field according to the information contained in the fiducial mark to scan an image having the pre-defined scanning area. Optionally, the method further contains the step of determining whether an image is present in the rectangular field, and if so, then adjusting the scanning area to compensate for any inadvertent misplacement of the image in the rectangular field.

Embodiments include: providing, on a substrate, a RX pad having a SPM with a SPM horizontal and vertical positions at horizontal and vertical midpoints, respectively, of the first RX pad; providing a second RX pad abutting the first RX pad and a first STI pad abutting the second RX pad, each having a vertical midpoint at the SPM vertical position; forming a first gate alignment mark on the second RX pad and having vertical endpoints horizontally aligned with vertical endpoints of the second RX pad; and forming a second gate alignment mark on the first STI pad and having vertical endpoints horizontally aligned with vertical endpoints of the first STI pad.
