摘要： A fixing device includes a heater, a fixing rotator, a first temperature sensor, a second temperature sensor, a contact rotator, and circuitry. The fixing rotator has an outer circumferential surface having a first area and a second area. The first area contacts both a first sheet and a second sheet having a width narrower than the width of the first sheet. The second area contacts the first sheet but does not contact the second sheet. The first temperature sensor detects a first temperature of the first area. The second temperature sensor detects a second temperature of the second area. The contact rotator contacts both the first area and the second area and rotates at the one of at least two relative velocities with respect to the fixing rotator. The circuitry sets one of the at least two relative velocities based on the first temperature and the second temperature.

摘要： The invention provides a multi-piece solid golf ball composed of a solid core encased by a cover of two or more layers, which solid core has an inner core layer and an outer core layer, and cover has an inner cover layer and an outer cover layer. The inner core layer is formed primarily of a thermoplastic resin, has a diameter of from 21 to 38 mm, has a JIS-C cross-sectional hardness of from 60 to 83 at any single point on a cross-section obtained by cutting the inner core layer in half, and has a cross-sectional hardness difference between any two points on the cross-section of within ±5. The outer core layer is formed of a rubber composition made primarily of polybutadiene rubber. The solid core has a diameter of from 35 to 42 mm. The ball has specific relationships between the hardness of the inner core layer 1 mm inside a boundary between the inner core layer and the outer core layer, the hardness of the outer core layer 1 mm outside the boundary, and the surface hardness of the outer core layer. And, the inner cover layer has the specific thickness and Shore D hardness, and the outer cover layer has the specific thickness and Shore D hardness, which is higher than that of the inner cover layer. Such a golf ball is able to achieve an increased distance.

The core is made of a rubber composition which includes a base rubber, a co-crosslinking agent which is methacrylic acid, a crosslinking initiator and a metal oxide. The respective ingredients in the rubber composition are formulated in specific amounts, and the core has an optimized hardness profile. The cover includes a resin component which is composed primarily of polyurethane. The cover has a thickness of 0.3 mm to 1.9 mm, and a material hardness, expressed as the Shore D hardness, of 30 to 48. The respective deflections of the core and the ball under a specific load, and the relationship therebetween, are optimized. The volume ratio VR of dimples on the surface of the ball is optimized.
