摘要： An etching resist including first and second portions, the first portion being thicker than the second portion, is formed on a metallic layer. Through the etching resist, a semiconductor layer and the metallic layer are patterned by etching so as to form a wiring from the metallic layer and leave the semiconductor layer under the wiring. An electrical test is conducted on the wiring. The second portion is removed while the first portion is left unremoved. Selective etching is performed through the first portion so as to leave the semiconductor layer unetched to pattern the wiring to be divided into drain and source electrodes. A substrate is cut. In patterning the wiring, the wiring is etched to be cut at a position closer to a cutting line of the substrate with respect to the drain and source electrodes, while leaving the semiconductor layer unetched.

On a substrate of a display device, a plurality of scanning signal lines, a plurality of video signal lines which stereoscopically intersects the plurality of scanning signal lines by way of an insulation layer, common electricity supply lines arranged in a matrix array which intersect the plurality of scanning signal lines and the plurality of video signal lines by way of the insulation layer, and a common bus line which is arranged around an approximately quadrangular display region to surround the display region annularly and is electrically connected with the common electricity supply lines are formed. The substrate includes a common sensing line which feedbacks a voltage of the common bus line to a common voltage generating circuit, and the common sensing line is connected to a side of the common bus line opposite to a side of the common bus line to which the voltage of the common potential is applied. Further, the common sensing line is configured not to stereoscopically intersect other conductive layer formed on the substrate.

摘要： An LCD device has a pair of substrates including orientation films on surfaces thereof which face opposing substrates. The substrate on which signal lines are formed, on a side thereof which is disposed between a region on which sealing material is arranged and a display region and along which the signal lines extend to the outside of the sealing material from the display region, includes a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer and an insulation layer which is interposed therebetween. The insulation layer extends in the direction at least along an outer periphery of the display region, and includes groove portion having a recessed groove which opens on the orientation film side. The first conductive layer is covered on the surface of the recessed groove. The signal lines are formed in a state that the signal lines go around the recessed groove.

摘要： The present invention suppresses the spreading by wetting of an orientation film material in a liquid form toward a sealing agent applied region positioned on an outer periphery of a display region in forming an orientation film thus ensuring the uniformity of a film thickness in the display region. A pair of substrates includes orientation films on surfaces thereof which face opposing substrates. Out of the pair of substrates, the substrate on which the signal lines are formed, on a side thereof which is disposed between a region on which the sealing material is arranged and the display region and along which the signal lines extend to the outside of the sealing material from the display region, includes a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer and an insulation layer which is interposed between the first and second conductive layers between the orientation film and the substrate, the insulation layer extends in the direction at least along an outer periphery of the display region, and includes groove portion having a recessed groove which opens on the orientation film side, the first conductive layer is formed along a shape of the recessed groove, and the signal lines are formed in a state that the signal lines go around the recessed groove.

摘要： Provided is a manufacturing method for a liquid crystal display device, in which a semiconductor pattern and a metal pattern are formed so that the semiconductor pattern includes a first portion formed under the metal pattern and a second portion which outwardly extends off the metal pattern from the first portion. An insulating layer for covering the metal pattern and the semiconductor pattern is formed. The insulating layer is subjected to etching in a first region located above the metal pattern and in a second region located above at least the second portion of the semiconductor pattern. In the etching step, the insulating layer in the first region is subjected to etching to form a through hole for electrical connection to the metal pattern, and the insulating layer and the semiconductor pattern in the second region are subjected to etching to remove the second portion of the semiconductor pattern.
