An example apparatus includes an interface to receive a unique identifier and an application identifier from a media device executing an instrumented application. A panel creator is to create a master frame corresponding to media devices that have executed the instrumented application. A registration data controller is to: (i) determine a skip rate, (ii) assign the media device from the master frame into a first test cell based on a random value and the skip rate, (iii) select a first recruitment interface associated with the first test cell, and (iv) instruct the instrumented application to, in response to the instrumented application being executed for a first time after a threshold period of time since an initial execution of the instrumented application has elapsed, display the first recruitment interface.

The example apparatus further includes an asset loader to generate a validation report including the identification of the reference media device asset.

An example method includes providing a software development kit (SDK) to an application developer. The SDK is to enable the application developer to create a monitoring enabled application. A panelist identifier is transmitted in response to a request from a registrar executed by the media device. The request includes demographic information associated with a user of the media device. The panelist identifier is stored in a shared memory of the media device and is accessible to the monitoring enabled application. The monitoring enabled application is to collect data if the panelist identifier is in the shared memory and to disable collection of the data if the panelist identifier is not in the shared memory. The data is collected from the monitoring enabled application.

Reference signature requests are received from an employee or user. The reference signature request is distributed to automated capture tool circuitry, which plays the relevant media for a meter and provides a status update. When a signature is created, a status update indicates whether it is considered to be a reference signature. Prioritization circuitry assigns and updates a priority for each of the requests according to the priority of other requests, the status updates, and a priority rule set. Reference signature requests with the highest priority are assigned to automated capture tool circuitry for completion before lower priority requests.
