摘要： A color printing apparatus includes a printer driver for receiving a print instruction of print data issued from an application program, and for rasterizing the print data to produce con-tone/multi-bits bitmap data and bi-tone/single-bit bitmap data; a page memory for independently storing thereinto both the con-tone/multi-bits bitmap data and the bi-tone/single-bit bitmap data; a control unit for executing a control operation in such a manner that the con-tone/multi-bits bitmap data is converted into con-tone/multi-bits print data, the bi-tone/single-bit bitmap data is converted into bi-tone/single-bit print data, and at least one of the con-tone/multi-bits print data-and the bi-tone/single-bit print data is stored into the page memory in a bitmap format; and an output control unit for reading at least any one of the con-tone/multi-bits print data and the bi-tone/single-bit print data from the page memory, and for logically synthesizing the print data with each other to output the synthesized print data to a color printing unit, reducing the data amount of the bitmap data.

摘要： In an image output device a test chart 18 including tests charts 6 of each color is used, and a tone correction table is calculated. The test charts 6 are patterned in a checkered pattern, each including continuous areas 10 in which the tones increase in steps and reference areas 11 for comparison with the continuous areas 10. The reference areas 11 are formed of white ground of paper in a highlight proof part 7, a solid pattern with a maximum density in a shadow proof part 8, and halftone dot-concentrated or line screens with a lower resolution than in the continuous areas in a middle proof part 9. Tone correction values are calculated from characteristic values of the highlight, shadow and middle parts, obtained from visual data of the test chart 18.

摘要： In the related art of a method called a gloss mark, clear toner capable of adjusting glossiness without varying color phase has been used in order to prepare a gloss mark. However, a development device for clear toner is necessary in addition to a development device for colored toner. Accordingly, there has been a problem of upsizing and cost increase of an image forming apparatus.The image forming apparatus of the present invention forms a gloss mark only with colored toner without using clear toner. Specifically, at an area of which gloss is to be lowered, a part of colored toner required for forming an image is formed and fixed on a sheet, and then, the residual quantity which is not formed before the fixing out of the colored toner required for forming the image is formed and fixed so as to be superimposed to the fixed colored toner.
