    • A C-shaped bobbin includes a bobbin base member adjacent and attached to a first lateral leg of an actuator coil. A bobbin recess, adjacent the bobbin base member, separates first and second bobbin wings. The first and second bobbin wings define first and second wing lengths measured parallel to first and second longitudinal legs of the coil, respectively, and also define first and second wing widths measured normal to the first and second longitudinal legs, respectively. The bobbin recess defines a recess depth measured normal to the first lateral leg, and defines a recess width measured parallel to the first lateral leg. Each of the first and second wing lengths is less than the length of the longitudinal legs. The recess depth is at least half a base member width. The recess width is at least twice the first wing width and/or the second wing width.

    • The present invention provides a method and apparatus of synchronizing AAL2 path states between ATM adaptation layer type 2 (AAL2) signaling nodes, wherein a AAL2 signaling node as a synchronization requesting end sends a path state request message to a peer AAL2 signaling node of an AAL2 path, the peer AAL2 signaling node performs local check on the state of the AAL2 path designated by the request message after receiving the request message, and the peer AAL2 signaling node controls consistency synchronization processing on the AAL2 path states at two ends based on the result of the check. The present invention may avoid initial call failure incurred by inconsistency between states at two ends of an AAL2 path and improves success ratio of AAL2 path establishment.

    • The present disclosure describes various antenna assemblies, each antenna coil being disposed about a tool body section in an antenna pathway. The antenna pathway passes through alternating grooves and lands. In each embodiment, at least one of the grooves is disposed in the tool body section at a non-axial direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the tool body section. In an embodiment, the antenna coil is an axial coil or a tilted coil. Additional grooves oriented at axial direction may be disposed on the tool body section. Each of the antenna assemblies disclosed may be employed in an electromagnetic logging tool for providing directional measurements while drilling.
