摘要： Convertible furniture includes a first arm, a first seat, and a base. The first seat is adjacent the first arm and includes a head panel, a mid-panel, and a foot panel. The first seat has a seat configuration in which the head panel is in a vertical orientation. The first seat has a bed configuration in which the head panel, the mid-panel, and the foot panel are each in a horizontal orientation with a top surface of each cooperating to form a flat surface. The base has a side rail that is secured to the first arm and a center support parallel to and spaced apart from the first arm. The head panel of the first seat at least partially supported by the side rail and the center support in the deployed position thereof when the first seat is in the bed configuration.

摘要： An articulated sofa bed has a compact profile while folded with the seat cushions residing at a comfortable and ergonomic height and an esthetically pleasing streamlined appearance. The sofa bed includes swinging members for controlling the configuration of the head and middle panel assemblies as the bed deploys or retracts between a folded configuration and a deployed configuration, including (i) a rear-swinging member and a mid-swinging member for pivotally attaching between a head panel assembly and a mounting arm and (ii) a front-swinging member for pivotally attaching between a middle panel assembly and the mounting arm. A locking mechanism is pivotally connected between a head panel assembly and a mid-swinging member and between the head panel assembly and a connecting arm operatively linked to the middle panel assembly to fixably maintain the head panel assembly in a generally horizontal position when the bed is in the deployed configuration.

摘要： A convertible piece of upholstered furniture can be converted via motorized conversion aids from a seat function into a bed, by way of any desired number of intermediate stages, and vice versa. All movable parts can be fully stressed by a person during conversion, even when a person is sitting or lying on the piece of furniture. These changes can take place even when the piece is being used by a person, whereby each movable part of the piece of upholstered furniture can be changed by means of a motor drive having a control. The footrest and the seat part are configured so that they can move out of a base frame with their metal fittings. A lever construction arranged on the metal fitting of the footrest and a motor drive adjusts the height and angle of the footrest and moves the piece of furniture to the various positions.

A platform is hinged to the inner carriage at an end thereof close to the head cushion for receiving thereon the folding cushion in the cot position of the carriages, and movable supporting elements connected to the lever system being provided for moving the platform to an essentially horizontal position when the carriages are moved into the cot position, which elements are adapted to support the platform when the lever system is in a dead center or over-center position when the carrier frame is in the raised position.
