摘要： An adjustable wheelchair for ready assembly in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. In one embodiment, the wheelchair includes, an undercarriage including, a horizontal axle including a first end segment telescopically coupled to a body segment and a second end segment telescopically coupled to the body segment opposite the first end segment allowing for adjustment of the wheelchair width, and a tongue including a body segment telescopically coupled to an end segment allowing for adjustment of the wheelchair length, and a seat post including an end segment telescopically coupled to a body segment allowing for adjusting the wheelchair seat height; and a pair of wheels; and a swivel wheel coupled to the tongue of the undercarriage to support the wheelchair and provide mobility; and a seat bottom coupled to the end segment of the seat post for load-bearing support; and a seatback rotatably coupled to the seat bottom.

摘要： A wheelchair having an adjustable seat includes a seat frame including first and second side support members. The side support members are extendable between a first position defining a first length and a second position defining a second length greater than the first length. A seat member is coupled at a first side thereof to the first side support member and at a second side thereof to the second side support member. The seat member extends between the first and second side support members to define a seat area having an initial depth corresponding to the first length of the side support members and a width corresponding to a distance between the side support members. The seat member includes an auxiliary portion for extending the seat member to an extended depth corresponding to the second length of the side support members.

摘要： A back support is pivotally oriented to locate a pivot point relative to posterior superior iliac spines of a seated user, such that when an upper portion of the back support contacts the upper torso of the user and moves to a desired angular orientation to balance the upper torso over the pelvic area, the back support transfers support to the posterior superior iliac spines to maintain the pelvic skeletal structure in alignment. A lower portion of the back support angularly contacts, supports and confines gluteal and buttocks tissue of the user independently of the degree of pivotal orientation of the upper portion.

摘要： A variably adjustable wheelchair is provided in which the height of the seat of the chair and the angle of the seat relative to the horizontal can be readily and easily changed depending upon the height, depth or angle that is desired or required by the wheelchair user. The wheelchair also includes a pair of separately and variably adjustable armrests which allow each armrest to be independently raised or lowered. The armrests may also be turned inwardly or outwardly relative to the torso of the user of the wheelchair. The wheelchair also includes a pair of variably adjustable legrests that are completely removable from the wheelchair and rotatable from the front of the wheelchair to the sides of it. The wheelchair also includes a mechanism for adjusting the width of the chair to further facilitate accommodation of it to its users. All fasteners utilized in the wheelchair are driven by a simple, hand-held drive mechanism that is provided with the wheelchair.
