摘要： Self-righting articles, such as self-righting capsules for administration to a subject, are generally provided. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may be configured such that the article may orient itself relative to a surface (e.g., a surface of a tissue of a subject). The self-righting articles described herein may comprise one or more tissue engaging surfaces configured to engage (e.g., interface with, inject into, anchor) with a surface (e.g., a surface of a tissue of a subject). In some embodiments, the self-righting article may have a particular shape and/or distribution of density (or mass) which, for example, enables the self-righting behavior of the article. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may comprise a tissue interfacing component and/or a pharmaceutical agent (e.g., for delivery of the active pharmaceutical agent to a location internal of the subject). In some cases, upon contact of the tissue with the tissue engaging surface of the article, the self-righting article may be configured to release one or more tissue interfacing components. In some cases, the tissue interfacing component is associated with a self-actuating component. For example, the self-righting article may comprise a self-actuating component configured, upon exposure to a fluid, to release the tissue interfacing component from the self-righting article. In some cases, the tissue interfacing component may comprise and/or be associated with the pharmaceutical agent (e.g., for delivery to a location internal to a subject).

摘要： An SMA actuated capsule micropump is provided having a linear actuation which leads to large deflection, high discharge volume, and high static head pressure. The pump is designed for drug delivery applications by introducing a replaceable capsule reservoir and controlling the drug's delivery at a constant dose and a constant static head pressure. The device has a wide range of flow rates (from less than 2 to more than 2500 μL/min) that would be suitable for a broad range of drug delivery applications. Also, the pump has a wide range of pressures up to 14 kPa (105 mmHg) that are possible, which well exceeds the back pressure of most of the superficial veins typically utilized for intravenous drug delivery, without compromising the suitability for transdermal drug delivery.

摘要： Intravesical devices are provided that are wholly deployable within the bladder of a patient in need of treatment and are well tolerated by the patient. The device may include an elastic body having a retention shape having (i) dimensions that provide intravesical mobility and that prevent voiding of the medical device through the urethra, and (ii) dimensions, buoyancy, or both, that exclude the medical device from entering the orifices of the ureters. The elastic body may exert a maximum acting force less than 1 N when compressed to a shape with a maximum dimension in any dimension of 3 cm. The device may include a drug for controlled release within the bladder, for treatment of the bladder or a regional tissue. Methods of treatment are also provided that include selecting a patient in need of treatment in the bladder where tolerability of the treatment is a primary concern.

A second example is where the beneficial action is provided by systemic distribution such as a sleep aid, i.e., Melatonin, so that when the earplugs are worn during sleep, the earplugs will provide a sleep aid to the wearer.

摘要： An alcohol soluble protein gas-liquid interface self-assembled porous membrane and a preparation method thereof are provided. The alcohol soluble protein gas-liquid interface self-assembled porous membrane is prepared from an alcohol soluble protein membrane storage solution by an anti-solvent method. The porous interface membrane is rapidly prepared by an alcohol soluble protein interface self-assembled one-step method and can be rapidly formed within 4 seconds, which greatly improves the preparation efficiency of the alcohol soluble protein membrane. The structure (size, pore diameter, micro porosity) of the alcohol soluble protein interface self-assembled porous membrane is precisely regulated and controlled by regulating and controlling process parameters, and a new preparation solution of an alcohol soluble protein base membrane, which is more efficient and has a modifiable structure compared with an alcohol soluble protein membrane prepared by a traditional solvent evaporation method, is developed.

摘要： Aspects of the present invention relate to a nozzle for a syringe for injecting blood plasma into a sinus cavity within a patients mouth. The nozzle comprises a body having a passage extending through the body along a longitudinal axis of the nozzle. The passage extends from a proximal end to a distal end of the body and an inlet to the passage is located at the proximal end of nozzle for receiving blood plasma from the syringe. An outlet from the passage is positioned at the distal end of the nozzle for distributing blood plasma in the sinus cavity. The outlet comprises an outlet aperture located on a distal tip of the nozzle and at least one exit gate extending from the passage through the distal end of the body. Aspects of the present invention relate to a thumb tab for plunging a plunger of a syringe, the thumb tab comprising a base portion for attachment to the plunger and a resiliently deformable spring element extending from the base portion. The spring element is moveable from a relaxed position to a compressed position in response to a user pressing on the spring element to depress the plunger within the syringe, in use. Aspects of the present invention relate to an osteotome, the osteotome comprising: a body having a longitudinal axis; the body having a distal end, and the body comprising a distal shoulder extending around an external surface of the body; the distal end of the body extending distally from the distal shoulder, and wherein the distal end of the body tapers in a distal direction from the distal shoulder towards a distal tip along the longitudinal axis.
