摘要： A method of making a ball, comprising: forming an inner core having a diameter of about 0.5 inches or lower; forming a plurality of outer core parts from an elastomeric material, each outer core part having an inner surface, an outer surface and at least one non planar mating surface, wherein the inner surface is concentrically disposed within the outer surface and comprises a cavity for receiving the inner core, and wherein the at least one nonplanar mating surface extends radially between the inner surface and the outer surface and comprises a plurality of mating ridges which extend from the inner surface to the outer surface; forming an outer core by mating the outer core parts about the inner core and joining the nonplanar mating surfaces by meshing the mating ridges to form a multi-layer core having a nonplanar parting line which extends about the outer surface circumferentially and intersects with the mating ridges at the outer surface; and molding a cover about the inner core, wherein the elastomeric material has a cohesive strength and the parting line has a mated strength equal to or greater than the cohesive strength.

摘要： A golf ball includes an inner layer, a cover layer, and a cavity. The cavity includes a conduit connecting the cavity with an exterior of the golf ball. The cavity contains a matrix comprising particles of a first material bound together by a second material. The first material has a density greater than water and the second material is water soluble. Upon prolonged submersion in water, the matrix dissolves allowing the first material particles to exit the cavity. The removal of the mass of the first material particles lowers the density of the golf ball, allowing the golf ball to float to the surface of the water.

The light-emitting golf ball is characterized in that hemispherical first hollow portions extend from the surface toward the center of a core, second hollow portions having a diameter less than that of the first hollow portions extend from bottom zones of the first hollow portions toward the center of the core, narrow holes extend through the core from the second hollow portions to portions of the core that are opposed to the second hollow portions, a ball body includes a transparent cover layer extending over the core surface, chemical light-emitting bodies include sealed vessels made of a flexible transparent material, the sealed vessels have cylindrical portions and round light-emitting portions having a diameter greater than that of the cylindrical portions, the cylindrical portions are tightly fit in the second hollow portions, and the light-emitting portions are fit in the first hollow portions. The light-emitting golf ball has a brightness greater than that of conventional light-emitting golf balls and therefore can be visually identified from a distance. The light-emitting golf ball can be used many times by replacing the chemical light-emitting bodies with other ones. The balance of the ball is well maintained and therefore the flying performance thereof is not deteriorated.

摘要： A golf ball-forming composition, golf balls prepared from the composition and the process for preparing thereof. The golf ball-forming composition is composed of the following: polyvinyl alcohol resin 5-80 wt %; filler 0-90 wt %, natural high polymer material 0-60 wt %, and plasticizer 5-50 wt %. The filler is the common filler known by the skilled person in the art; the natural high polymer material is celluloses or amyloses; the plasticizer is the common substances used by the skilled person in the art. The golf ball-forming composition is water soluble and biodegradable. The water soluble and biodegradable golf ball has a hollow inside, and has a surface which is disposed with at least one through hole communicated with the hollow. When the golf ball is hit into water, water will enter the hollow via the through hole, thereby increases the contact area between water and the ball and accelerates the dissolution of the ball, so that the ball may eventually completely biodegraded in the environment.
