    • The present invention relates to a filter unit or more specifically a filter box (3) for a filtering chip conveyor. The filter box (3) comprises at least one filtration element (15) comprising a filtration region having a plurality of first openings for permitting cutting fluid to pass through the filtration element while not permitting chips with given dimensions to pass through it; and at least one second opening (13) allowing filtered cutting fluid inside the filter unit (3) to pass out of the filter unit (3) through the second opening (13). The filter unit (13) further comprises at least one brush (20) on the inside of the filter unit (3), wherein the brush (20) is arranged to brush and jolt the filtration element (15) to remove and clean at least a part of the filtration region.

    • A filter apparatus comprising an inlet for receiving a target fluid to be filtered, an outlet for allowing exit of filtered target fluid and a filter plate disposed between the inlet and the outlet. The filter plate having a lengthwise direction and a widthwise direction and the inlet being disposed proximal one portion of the filter plate for delivering at least some of the fluid onto the filter means initially in a lengthwise direction along the filter plate. The outlet being disposed on an opposing portion of the filter plate in the lengthwise direction and at a distance just below the inlet such that the filter apparatus maintains a low profile in a heightwise direction.

    • The present invention provides a water purifier, the water purification capability of which can be maintained over a long period of time.     • A suction filter for an automatic transmission utilizes two different types of filter media: a coarse filter media and a fine filter media. The two types of media are arranged in series within a housing such that fluid flows through only one of the two filter media. A hinge valve is arranged in series with the coarse media. The hinge valve passively opens in response to a pressure differential. The hinge valve defines a non-zero flow area when in the closed position and an increasing flow area as it opens. The flow restriction associated with the hinge valve permits a larger ratio of coarse media area to fine media, thereby decreasing the flow restriction when the oil is cold without decreasing the clean-up rate in normal operating conditions.
