    • A construction de-watering high volume multi-separation system for use in removing a fluid medium from a construction site including a mechanical subsystem and a programmable computer control subsystem where the mechanical subsystem includes a high volume inlet for injecting a fluid medium, a chemical metering pump for injecting engineered chemicals into the fluid medium for separating a plurality of targeted compounds and controlling the pH level of the fluid medium, a multi-separation unit including a continuous loop conveyor for capturing sediment and floating contamination in the fluid medium, the programmable computer control subsystem arranged for continuously monitoring and comparing sensed parameters from the mechanical subsystem with pre-programmed input data, generating correction signals fed back to the mechanical subsystem for maintaining the sensed parameters within limitations, and for continuously adjusting and reporting in real time to a regulatory authority the operation of the mechanical subsystem.

    • A filtering assembly is provided for removal of certain substances from a solution. More particularly, apparatus are provided for removal of hazardous or environmentally unacceptable chemicals from a first solution before it is discharged. The device includes a cylindrical housing having a spaced apart inlet and outlet. Adjacent the inlet, a metal precipitate chamber is provided to collect precipitates which includes rolled fiberglass for capturing precipitates. A filter subassembly is provided on the downstream side of the inlet. The solution is then directed through an adsorption chamber containing activated carbon. In this chamber, certain chemicals are absorbed onto the carbon. A second embodiment of the invention provides multiple inlets for chemicals being introduced into the chamber as well as a water inlet. The chemical inlets are provided with distribution manifolds to evenly disburse the incoming solution within the chamber. In this embodiment, the absorption chamber is located further up stream to allow back flow of the solution through the chamber after the precipatates have been removed. The device has particular application to the disposal of spent photochemicals such as developer solutions.

    • A dry cleaning solvent recovery and filtering system includes a dry cleaning solvent tank containing solvent for use in a dry cleaning machine. A filtration path from the tank includes a centrifugal separator for removing coarse debris and a filter element for removing fine debris from the solvent fluid. The filter element includes a perforated metal cylinder, having an open mouth, with a Teflon.RTM. coated screen forming the interior debris collection surface. A rinsing spray nozzle situated at the mouth of the filter element directs a fluid spray under pressure against the collection surface in the same direction that debris contaminated solvent fluid flows therethrough. The pressure of the fluid spray is sufficient to dislodge fine debris adhered to the collection surface without forcing the debris into the perforations of the filter element.
