摘要： When a slurry s obtained by dispersing a rare-earth-compound powder in a solvent is applied to sintered magnet bodies m, and dried to remove the solvent in the slurry and cause the surfaces of the sintered magnet bodies to be coated with the powder, and the sintered magnet bodies coated with the powder are heat treated to cause the rare-earth element to be absorbed by the sintered magnet bodies, the sintered magnet bodies m are warmed or heated before the slurry s is applied. As a result, the rare-earth-compound powder can be efficiently and uniformly applied to the surfaces of the sintered magnet bodies.

摘要： In a localized torsional severe plastic deformation method for conical tube metal, a desired region of a conical tube metal can be subjected to severe plastic deformation using molds in which roughness is formed at predetermined regions. The method includes roughening a predetermined region of each of the molds; sticking the conical tube metal only to the roughened regions of the molds; moving the lower mold toward the upper mold to apply a load to the conical tube metal; and rotating the molds to apply severe plastic deformation to the conical tube metal only at the regions stuck to the roughened regions of the molds.

摘要： There is provided a compact for a magnet which can produce a magnetic member having high coercive force. The compact for a magnet is produced by compression-molding a rare earth-iron-based alloy powder containing a plurality of particles of a rare earth-iron-based alloy containing a rare earth element and iron, wherein the rare earth-iron-based alloy satisfies configurations (a) to (c) below and has 5% by volume or more and 20% by volume or less of voids formed therein. A procedure for the making of an ornamental article includes at least a phase for preparing at least a base component of a silicone resin; at least a phase for preparing the metallic powder; at least an initial phase for mixing the metallic powder with the silicone resin base component to obtain an even mixture; and at least an initial phase for reticulating the base component in the even mixture with the metallic powder distributed in a homogeneous way.

摘要： The present invention discloses a self standing network or scaffold of nanoparticles with controllably variable mesh size between 500 nm and 1 mm having particle volume fraction between 0.5 to 50%. The network comprises nanoparticles, a surfactant capable of forming ordered structured phases and a cross linking agent, wherein the surfactant is washed off leaving the self standing scaffold. The invention further discloses the process for preparing the self standing scaffolds and uses thereof.

摘要： A process for generating in-situ low-cost atmospheres suitable for annealing and heat treating ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys, brazing metals, sealing glass to metals, and sintering metal and ceramic powders in a continuous furnace from non-cryogenically produced nitrogen containing up to 5% residual oxygen is presented. The disclosed process involves mixing nitrogen gas containing residual oxygen with a predetermined amount of a hydrocarbon gas, feeding the gaseous mixture through a nonconventional device into the hot zone of a continuous heat treating furnace, converting residual oxygen to an acceptable form such as a mixture of moisture and carbon dioxide, a mixture of moisture, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide, or a mixture of carbon monoxide, moisture, and hydrogen, and using the resultant gaseous mixture for annealing and heat treating metals and alloys, brazing metals, sintering metal and ceramic powders, and sealing glass to metals.

摘要： A method of producing shaped, self-supporting ceramic bodies includes preparing a mold by applying a permeable, conformable material to a shape-defining surface of an expendable pattern. The permeable, conformable material, when set or stable, provides a mold with a shaped surface which is defined by, and is therefore substantially congruent to, the shape-defining surface. Upon heating, the material of the expendable pattern combusts or volatilizes and thus establishes the shaped cavity mold. A molten parent metal is then oxidized with a vapor-phase oxidant in such a manner as to form a ceramic body which grows into the mold cavity, and is shaped by it. The ceramic body is recovered from the mold having a shaped surface replicating the shape-defining surface of the expendable pattern.
