摘要： A method of manufacturing a foam body having an anisotropic cell structure, the method including the steps of: expanding a polymer at an elevated temperature to form an initial foam body; and cooling the initial foam body under a negative pressure. There is also provided a method of manufacturing a foam body having an anisotropic cell structure, the method including the steps of: (a) in a first expansion step, expanding a foamable polymer composition substantially isotropically to form an initial foam body having an isotropic cell structure; and (b) in a second expansion step, expanding the initial foam body anisotropically in a selected direction under a negative pressure which applies an expanding force in the selected direction to provide a final foam body having an anisotropic cell structure. Apparatus for the methods are also disclosed.

摘要： There are provided a foaming filler member which allows, even when the inner space of a hollow member has a protruding space, easy filling of the protruding space without using an extra member, a heat-foamable sheet used for the foaming filler member, a method for manufacturing the heat-foamable sheet, and a method for filling the inner space of the hollow member. A heat-foamable sheet which extends in one direction when heated at 100 to 130° C. for 20 minutes and has an extension ratio of 5 to 50% in the extension direction is manufactured by stretch-forming a heat-foamable material. Even when the inner space has the protruding space, the protruding space can be easily filled at low cost without using an extra member by using the heat-foamable sheet as the foaming filler member, disposing the foaming filler member in the main space of the inner space, and foaming it such that the extending direction of the heat-foamable sheet is oriented toward the protruding space.

摘要： There is provided a molded body including a main portion and a bank portion each of which is formed by foaming and molding a foam material. The main portion is made of urethane material which is softer than the material for the bank portion. At a boundary portion between the main and bank portions, the main portion is formed in a continuous interlocking profile and the bank portion is also formed in another continuous interlocking profile. The interlocking profile and the another interlocking profile are mated to each other so as to prevent separation between the main portion and the bank portion in a direction of an arrow (vehicle width direction). The boundary portion is provided by partitioning the cavity in a single mold with a weir, introducing different foam materials into both sides of the weir and foaming the introduced materials.
