摘要： A method of making a composite laminate having an internally damped constraining layer sandwiched between first and second load-bearing members. The constraining layer and load-bearing members are of a filament reinforced resin matrix, with the gelation temperature of the resin matrices of the constraining layer and load-bearing members being different. During a single cure cycle, the temperature of the assembled unit is increased such that one of the resin matrices hardens first while the other hardens at a later point in time and at a higher temperature, with the process ensuring for an adequate bond between the resin matrices and viscoelastic damping layers positioned on either side of the constraining layer members. The constraining layer members are affixed with gaps between them and a compliant tubing is placed within the gaps.

摘要： A flexible hose having a novel braided reinforcement layer wherein one braid member is a relatively stiff, uncrimped monofilament and the second braid member is a flexible textile material which is crimped around the stiff monofilament at each contact point in the braided spiral layer. The braided spiral imparts improved crush and kink resistance to the hose structure. The method of manufacture employs no mandrel and produces a balanced tension braided hose which may be preferably cured by open steam techniques.

摘要： A method of manufacturing on a continuous basis quantities of seamed belts with imageable seams for printing systems from a continuous supply web of belt material, which seamed belts need to be manufactured to a desired circumference and width. In the disclosed embodiment the sides of the incoming supply web are cut in seam-forming mating edges and the web is fed in at an angle to a pair of rollers, at least one of which is tapered, to spirally wrap the web into a cylinder of the desired circumference of the seamed belts and providing mating engagement and gluing of the seam-forming edges. Then by sequentially transversely cutting off cylindrical segments of that spirally formed cylinder into the desired width, multiple seamed belts are formed with both the desired circumference and width.

摘要： A method for the manufacture of integral coach bodies includes the steps of winding an inner covering layer on a body-shaped winding core and attaching a plurality of U-shaped channel segments to outer surfaces of ceiling and floor walls and attaching a plurality of insulation segments in corner regions of the body. A stiffening framework is attached to the outer surfaces of side walls of the body, insulation plates are attached in some rectangular openings in the stiffening framework and blank covers are positioned in other ones of the openings for subsequently installing windows and doors. The attached elements form a step-tree surface upon which is wound an outer covering layer. The coach body thus manufactured is removed from the winding core, the blank covers are cut out for the door and window openings, apertures are formed in the inner covering layer for the feed and removal of air and openings are formed for mounting illumination devices in the ceiling wall. One or both of the covering layers can be formed with a sandwich type construction having a first winding layer, an insulation mat attached to an outer surface of the first winding layer, and a second winding layer wound over the insulation mat.
