摘要： A process for producing a curved substrate (20) covered with a film (10) comprises a heat treatment of the film performed between a step of preforming said film and a step of assembling the film with the substrate. A maximum temperature of the pre-assembling heat treatment is higher than another maximum temperature of a post-assembling heat treatment (F) which is performed after the assembling step. Then the assembly of the substrate (20) with the film (10) is not altered during said post-assembling heat treatment. In particular, no defect and no delamination appear, and no change in the curved shape of the substrate is caused by the post-assembling heat treatment, even if the substrate (20) has a low glass transition temperature.

摘要： An information recording medium comprising a substrate having a recording surface provided with emboss pits or guiding grooves, a reflective film formed on the recording surface of the substrate, and a first protective film formed on the reflective film. This information recording medium is featured in that both sides of the information recording medium are constituted by a first surface provided with the protective film and by a second surface formed opposite to the first surface, and that an irradiated light beam is irradiated through the first surface, a recorded information being reproduced based on changes in light intensity of the reflected light beam. The distance between the recording surface of the substrate and the light incident surface is smaller than a thickness of the substrate, and a surface roughness “R” of the light incident surface meets a relationship represented by the following formula (1): R≦λ/(8n) (1) wherein λ is a wavelength of the light beam, and n is a refractive index of the first protective film to a light having the wavelength λ.

The conveying unit conveys a laminate including a screen-related substrate sandwiched between two membrane-related substrates. The hot-pressing unit hot-presses and welds the laminate dot by dot to bond the substrates along a closed curve eventually, thus making a semi-product of the filtering unit out of a portion of the laminate within the closed curve. The punching unit punches the semi-product with an aperture, thus making a final product of the filtering unit.

摘要： Techniques for producing optical medium that can be read at substantially high speeds with greater stability and accuracy are disclosed. According to one aspect of the techniques, a molding station includes an optimized stampler which does not have an exact inverse image of a replica. To account for an inherent distortion in a substrate after being stamped, a stampler is pre-distorted so that the pit geometry in the stamped substrate becomes nearly perfect after the inherent distortion. In one embodiment, the injection of a molten material, the mold position and compression are respectively controlled to account for possible non-uniform density distribution of the material. To provide an effective bonding process, a bonding station is employed with what is referred to as index bonding technique and/or pulse bonding technique. The index bonding is provided to ensure that non-flatness of substrates is compensated when two substrates are bonded together so as to minimize possible dynamic imbalance of a disc. The pulse bonding is provided to eliminate bubbles from a type of glue used to bond two substrates, wherein a high voltage used to generate a pulse of electromagnetic field is programmable in accordance with the substrates and the characteristics of the glue.

摘要： The invention relates to an improvement for applying a layered structure (1) onto a convex surface of a lens (10). After thermoforming the layered structure, a curvature direction of the layered structure is inverted. The structure is then applied on the lens surface by continuously pushing the structure (1) against the lens surface, starting from a contact point between a convex surface of the structure and the convex surface of the lens. The curvature direction of the layered structure is then inverted again, so that it recovers the curvature direction that resulted from thermoforming. Stresses within the layered structure are then reduced, and the structure can be assembled with the lens without defects.

摘要： A process for the aligned joining of molded substrate is disclosed. The process includes forming at least one recess into the surface of first and second complementary molds. The molds are joined such that the recess formed in each mold is positioned one above the other and the mold surfaces are congruent. The hollow space defined by the aligned recesses is filled with curable plastic, the plastic is cured, and then the molds are separated such that the cured filling remains within the recess of one the molds. The cured filling forms an elevation in the mold surface that is situated opposite from the recess in the other mold surface. First and second workpieces are then formed via the molds.
