摘要： An adhesive frame includes a clear flexible sheet member with an optional printed ink layer disposed on a border of a first side of the clear flexible sheet member. A semi-permanent adhesive layer is disposed on a second side of the clear flexible sheet member at the border of the clear flexible sheet member. No adhesive is disposed in the middle of the adhesive frame, either through using a patterned adhesive or through use of a liner. Such adhesive frames allow for quick and easy mounting of visual media on nearly any surface. Media can be quickly removed and replaced from underneath the adhesive frame because of the lack of adhesive in the middle portion of the adhesive frame.

摘要： At least one puck is used to manufacture a vacuum insulated panel with a shaped opening. A pair of barrier films are positioned about an insulated core having a shaped opening such as a through bore, cutout, or relief. The puck includes a protrusion having a shape similar to that of the opening of the insulated core. With the barrier films positioned about the insulated core, the pucks are inserted into the opening from opposite sides of the insulated core to thereby compress the barrier films between the shaped protrusions of the pucks to thereby prevent wrinkles and/or creases in the barrier films. The insulated core is then subjected to a vacuum to evacuate the insulated core of any gases and the barrier films are heat sealed to maintain the insulated core in the evacuated state. Excess barrier film is then removed to provide a wrinkle and/or crease free seal.

摘要： A method for welding profiled elements in plastic material includes: preparing two profiled elements, arranged with respective weld zones facing one another; making a groove corresponding to at least one weld zone of the profiled elements, the grooving performed by a removal operation on a peripheral edge of at least one profiled element; heating the weld zones; coupling the zones to be welded to one another, pressing the profiled elements together to keep the zones to be welded in reciprocal contact. The coupling step includes: a sub-step of melting the zones to be welded into one another in order to define a welding bead; a sub-step of making a containing compartment defined by the groove, the welding bead being made internally of the containing compartment; and the step of arranging a containing presser in correspondence to the containing compartment for preventing exit of the welding bead from the compartment itself.

摘要： A device for welding profiled elements in plastic material includes: a base frame supporting retaining members of respective profiled elements, to engage the profiled elements with corresponding zones to be welded facing one another; a heater for heating the weld zones of the profiled elements; a unit to move the retaining members, to shift the profiled elements between a first reciprocal away direction and a second reciprocal closer direction wherein the zones to be welded are coupled together; and a removal unit utilizing milling The removal unit includes: a supporting frame positioned in correspondence to the retaining members; at least one machining tool; a motor part associated with the tool; and a movement member of the tool, to move it between a first idle condition and a second working condition wherein it is placed between the profiled elements.

摘要： A lens blank for a fluid lens includes a rigid lens and a semi-flexible inflatable membrane attached to the rigid lens. The lens blank is divided into a cavity zone and a bonded zone. The cavity zone extends radially outward from a central area of the lens blank and a cavity is formed between the membrane and the rigid lens within the cavity zone. The bonded zone extends radially outward from the cavity zone and the membrane is bonded and fluidly sealed to the rigid lens throughout the bonded zone. The bonded zone is dimensioned to be trimmed to accommodate a plurality of frame shapes and sizes. Methods of manufacturing lens blanks are also provided. Arrays of lens blanks and fluid lenses are also provided.

摘要： An example of a composite structure is a containment case 2 for a gas turbine engine 1 which comprises an annular housing 3 and an annular flange 4 which is integral with and is positioned at an end of the housing 3. The housing 3 comprises composite material which includes tape 9 laid in the circumferential direction of the housing. The flange 4 comprises composite material which includes tape 8 laid at an oblique angle to the circumferential direction of the flange 4 and/or tape 7 laid at a perpendicular angle to the circumferential direction. The flange 4 does not include tape 9 laid in the circumferential direction of the flange, because such tape would impede the forming of the flange material to form the flange.
