摘要： A method of making a belt-creped absorbent cellulosic sheet. The method includes compactively dewatering a papermaking furnish to form a dewatered web having an apparently random distribution of papermaking fiber orientation. The dewatered web is applied to a translating transfer. The web from the transfer surface is belt-creped at a consistency of from about 30% to about 60% utilizing a generally planar polymeric creping belt having a plurality of perforations. The belt-creping step occurs under pressure in a belt creping nip defined between the transfer surface and the creping belt. The belt travels at a belt speed that is slower than the speed of the transfer surface, and the web is creped from the transfer surface and redistributed on the creping belt to form a web having a plurality of interconnected regions of different local basis weights.

As a means of achieving this object, the method for manufacturing an embossed crepe paper, according to the present invention, is a method for manufacturing an embossed crepe paper comprising a step of embossing a raw crepe paper, wherein: a raw paper having a basis weight of 6 to 28 g/m2 is used as the raw crepe paper; and the embossing step includes the steps of: (a) supplying the raw crepe paper with water in an amount of 0.1 to 100 weight % based on the basis weight to thereby put the raw crepe paper in a wet condition; (b) embossing the wet-conditioned raw crepe paper; and (c) drying the embossed wet-conditioned raw crepe paper.

The machine and process is especially useful in softening strong sheets as by permanently loosening bonds between components of the web.

摘要： A continuously advancing tissue paper web is separated from a Yankee dryer roll and creper, and then received and transported on an endless fabric conveyor and embossing belt travelling toward and over a reel drum. At the reeling station the web is threaded onto a reel spool and wound into a parent roll pressing against the conveyor and embossing belt running over the reel drum and thereby embossing the web in the roll/drum nip. Means are provided for automatically air threading the web onto the reel spool. For higher bulk tissue creped sheet, additional dry embossing may be effected while the sheet is being transported by the conveyor belt.
