    • A vehicle braking system includes a slip control system operable in an electronic stability control (ESC) mode to automatically and selectively apply the brakes in an attempt to stabilize the vehicle when an instability condition has been sensed. The slip control system is further operable in an adaptive cruise control (ACC) mode to automatically apply the brakes to slow the vehicle in response to a control signal. The slip control system includes a variable speed motor drive piston pump for supplying pressurized fluid pressure to the brakes through a valve arrangement. In the ESC mode, the pump motor operates in an ESC speed range, and in the ACC mode, the pump motor operates in an ACC speed range lower than the ESC speed range. The slip control system further includes an attenuator connected to a pump outlet for dampening pump output pressure pulses prior to application to the brakes. The attenuator includes an elastomeric member located in an attenuator chamber of a housing. The attenuator chamber defines a shoulder and the elastomeric member includes a flange which rests on the shoulder and locates the elastomeric member in a predetermined axial position within the attenuator chamber. An outside wall of the elastomeric member includes circumferentially extending grooves defining ribs between adjacent grooves.

    • Disclosed herein is a pressure damping device for a brake system which may reduce pressure pulsations generated by a piston pump. The pressure damping device is installed at a brake system having a hydraulic block provided with a first hydraulic circuit to control transfer of fluid pressures generated at a first port of a master cylinder and discharged from a first pump, and a second hydraulic circuit to control transfer of fluid pressures generated by a second port of the master cylinder and discharged from a second pump. The hydraulic block is provided with a bore connecting the master cylinder with a discharge outlet of each of the pumps and formed between main oil channels. The pressure damping device is provided in the bore, has a changeable volume, and includes a stopper member and a damping member. The damping member includes a ring-shaped elastic member and a plate.

    • Disclosed is a hydraulic brake system capable of reducing pressure pulsation caused by operation of a piston pump driven by a hydraulic motor in operation of the hydraulic brake system. The hydraulic brake system includes a master cylinder generating braking hydraulic pressure by operation of a brake pedal, a wheel brake provided to each of front right and left wheels and rear right and left wheels of a vehicle and receiving the braking hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder to generate braking force, an electronic valve provided to each of an inlet and an outlet of each of the wheel brakes to to control flow of the braking hydraulic pressure, a low pressure accumulator temporarily storing oil, which is ejected from the wheel brake during a pressure reduction braking operation in which the electronic valves are operated, a pump compressing the oil stored in the low pressure accumulator such that the oil is ejected towards the wheel brake or the master cylinder as needed, an orifice disposed near an outlet port of the pump, a first hydraulic circuit connecting a first port of the master cylinder to two wheel brakes to control transmission of hydraulic pressure, and a second hydraulic circuit connecting a second port of the master cylinder to the remaining two wheel brakes to control transmission of hydraulic pressure, wherein a damper unit is disposed between the outlet port of the pump and the orifice to relieve a pulsation phenomenon. Here, the damper unit allows main flow passages of the first and second hydraulic circuits to communicate with each other therethrough.
