摘要： A bottle cap is adapted to retain a quantity of an additive, such as, e.g., aspirin, vitamins, nutritional supplements or the like. The additive is retained in an isolated condition within a sealed chamber within the bottle cap but in fluid communication with the liquid within the bottle, such as water. A cap with at least one downward extending cutter is provided to breech the seal of the chamber, thereby releasing some, or all, of the additive retained within the bottle cap. The cap comprises an outer cap member installed over a lower cap member in rotational sealed relationship. A penetrable membrane is located at the lower portion of the lower cap to define a storage chamber for holding a desired additive. A modified J-channel governs movement of the outer cap relative to the inner cap to cause the cutter to move downward and pierce the membrane.

摘要： Closure device includes a closure cap, which can be screwed onto the threaded connection of a container, forming a fillable capsule that is open at the bottom, on which a seal directed downward is sealed. Upper side of the part of the closure cap which forms the capsule is designed to be deformable and can be pressed axially downward. A press element is molded on this cover of the closure cap at the bottom. By pressing the cover downward, the downward-directed seal of the capsule is broken open by the press element. Seal is made from a laminate comprising a carrier material with a thickness of at least 0.5 mm. Subsequently, a barrier film is sprayed or laminated on the carrier material. The crimping forms a circumferential edge, by means of which the seal can be sealed to the capsule edge, on the inner side of the carrier material, with respect to the capsule, and resting on same. The carrier material has pre-notches in the form of cuts, which approximately cut through the carrier material yet leave the attached films intact.

摘要： A closure for dispensing one or more active agents into a container comprises a sealed or sealable chamber having a breakable wall and a hollow piston slidably mounted in a piston guide. Said hollow piston comprises an outer wall having an end in the chamber and at least one ventilation aperture. Said end has a cutting formation. Said hollow piston is slidable in the piston guide between a ventilation position in which the at least one ventilation aperture allows ventilation of the chamber and a sealed position in which the at least one ventilation aperture is sealed to prevent ventilation of the chamber and a deployed position in which the cutting formation has broken through at least a portion of the breakable wall. The outer wall has a retaining formation which engages with the piston guide to releasably resist sliding of the hollow piston between the ventilation position and the sealed position and the deployed position. The hollow piston may have an outer wall, and said outer wall has an end within the chamber, facing the breakable wall, wherein the cutting end has a first edge having a cutting formation and a gap in said cutting formation.

摘要： An assembly and method are provided for storing and dispensing a soluble substance, such as a flavoring, into a liquid. A useful application of the subject invention includes the case where lime-flavored liquid is contained in a foam artificial lime stored in the neck of a beer bottle, attached to a beer bottle or can, or attached to the 6-pack or 12-pack carton. The artificial lime may be retrieved from the neck or a protective covering and acted upon so it diffuses the lime-flavored liquid into the beer when it is inserted into the beer bottle. Alternately, juice from the artificial lime may be squeezed into the beer, or the artificial lime may be simply retrieved and discarded. Rather than needing to buy a natural lime, cut it up and push a wedge into a beer bottle, an artificial lime, or a packaged natural lime, may be stored directly in or with the beer bottle and placed in functional contact with the beer at time of consumption.

A pierceable membrane is sealed along the periphery of the dispensing aperture.
