摘要： A medium feeding mechanism includes: a feeder that feeds a medium; a transport path that is coupled to the feeder; a transporter that transports the medium through the transport path; a transport drive that drives the transporter; an entry detection sensor that detects when the medium fed from the feeder has entered the transport path; a take-in transporter that takes in the medium transported by the transporter; and a transport controller that controls the feeder and the take-in transporter, wherein when the entry detection sensor detects entry of the medium at a time that falls within a first range set in advance, the controller controls the take-in transporter so as to take in the medium, and when the entry detection sensor detects entry of the medium at a time that falls within a second range following the first range.

摘要： A sheet feeding apparatus includes a sheet supporting portion, a sheet feed portion, an air separation unit, and a control unit. The sheet supporting portion supports a sheet bundle. The sheet feed portion performs a sheet feeding operation by abutting against an uppermost sheet of the sheet bundle supported on the sheet supporting portion and feeding the uppermost sheet. The air separation unit performs an air blowing operation of blowing air to a side face of the sheet bundle supported on the sheet supporting portion and separating sheets. The control unit executes a mode of performing the air blowing operation by the air separation unit, stopping the air blowing operation, and then performing the sheet feeding operation by the sheet feed portion in a state where the air blowing operation is stopped.

摘要： A paper feeding device of an embodiment includes a paper feed tray, a blower, and a flow regulating member. A paper bundle in which a plurality of sheets of paper are stacked can be placed on the paper feed tray. The blower is positioned next to the paper bundle placed on the paper feed tray. The blower can generate airflow. The flow regulating member is positioned above the paper bundle placed on the paper feed tray. The airflow from the blower causes the flow regulating member to generate a negative pressure between the flow regulating member and the uppermost sheet of paper of the paper bundle.

摘要： A sheet-like object transporting device disclosed herein includes a transport plate having suction holes made penetrating therethrough, a fan that sucks in air through the suction holes, a belt that moves along an upper surface of the transport plate, and a controller. Width of the belt corresponds to width of the transport plate. The belt has an open zone whose form corresponds to a sheet-like object. A sheet-like object is loaded on the transport belt so as to close up the open zone. The belt is moved with the sheet-like object attracted onto it by suction. The sheet-like object is stably held onto the transport belt, contacting the peripheries of the open zone without misalignment, and is stably transported without moving out of position or upward. It is possible to transport a sheet-like object attracted onto the belt, while suppressing suction force wasting.
