摘要： A reinforcing material is disclosed that includes coated glass flakes and coated glass strands. When the total amount of a glycidyl group-including resin and aminosilane contained in the coatings of the coated glass flakes corresponds to 100% by mass, the amount of the resin is 30% to 95% by mass. When the total amount of a glycidyl group-including resin, aminosilane, and a urethane resin contained in the coatings of the coated glass strands corresponds to 100% by mass, the amount of the glycidyl group-including resin is 10% to 90% by mass, the amount of the aminosilane is 0.1% to 40% by mass, and the amount of the urethane resin is 1% to 50% by mass. Both the coated glass flakes and the coated glass strands have an ignition loss of 0.1% to 2.0% by mass measured pursuant to JIS R3420 (2013).

摘要： The present disclosure relates to a glass fiber sizing agent for a daylighting panel. The sizing agent includes effective components and water. The sizing agent has a solid content of 2-8%. Percentage of solid mass of each of the effective components in a solid mass of the sizing agent is as follows: a silane coupling agent: 3-15%; a film-forming agent: 68-93%; a lubricant: 0.5-10%; an antistatic agent: 1-12%; and a pH regulator: 0-5%. The present disclosure further relates to a preparation method of the glass fiber sizing agent for a daylighting panel and use of the sizing agent in fields of glass fibers and composite materials. Compared with the prior art, glass fiber products produced from the sizing agent of the present disclosure have a suitable stiffness and wet-out speed, and the sizing agent has an excellent refractive index, which is similar to that of matrix resin. Glass fibers coated with the sizing agent can improve light transmittance of daylighting panels and strength and service life of composite materials.

摘要： Dried bundles of chopped glass fibers that may be used in compression and injection molding applications is provided. The chopped glass fiber bundles are formed of individual glass fibers positioned in a substantial parallel orientation. The dried chopped glass fiber bundles may be prepared by applying a size composition to attenuated glass fibers, splitting the fibers to obtain a desired bundle tex, chopping the wet glass bundles to a discrete length, and drying the wet glass bundles in a dielectric oven. Alternatively, the dried chopped glass bundles may be prepared by sizing attenuated glass fibers, passing the sized fibers through a heat transfer chamber where air heated by a bushing is drawn into the heat transfer chamber to dry the glass fiber bundles, splitting the dried, sized glass fiber bundles to obtain a desired bundle tex, and chopping the dried bundles of glass fibers.

摘要： A chopped strand mat formed of bundles reinforcin fibers and individual reinforcing fibers is provided. The chopped strand mat may be engineered to contain pre-selected amounts of bundles of reinforcement fibers and/or individual reinforcement fibers to select or enhance a particular feature of the chopped strand mat. In at least one embodiment, the reinforcing fibers are wet use chopped strand glass fibers. The reinforcing fibers are at least partially coated with a size composition that maintains bundle integrity during the formation of the mat and assists in filamentizing the bundles during subsequent processing steps in order to form chopped strand mat that gives an aesthetically pleasing look to the finished product. The retention of fiber bundles within the chopped strand mat creates a mat with a higher glass content per volume than conventional dispersed fiber mats. This increased glass content provides improved mechanical and impact performance to the final products.
