摘要： A thiosulfate polymer composition includes an electron-accepting photosensitizer component, either as a separate compound or as an attachment to the thiosulfate polymer. The thiosulfate polymer composition can be applied to various articles, or used to form a predetermined polymeric pattern after photothermal reaction to form crosslinked disulfide bonds, removing non-crosslinked polymer, and reaction with a disulfide-reactive material. Such thiosulfate polymer compositions can also be used to sequester metals in nanoparticulate form, and as a way for shaping human hair in hairdressing operations.

摘要： An article of manufacture comprises a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl aromatic monomer having a molecular weight of less than 15,000. Preferably, the copolymer is characterized by a backbone having a first and second terminal end group, the first terminal end group is a methyl group, the second terminal end group is a vinyl group, wherein the ratio of the terminal methyl group to the terminal vinyl group is 0.8:1 to 1:0.8. The article of manufacture includes, but is not limited to, waxes, lubricants, additives, etc. The waxes may be used to formulate paints and coatings, printing inks, carbon paper, photo toners, building and construction materials, mold release agents, hot melt adhesives, candles. The waxes may also be used in wood processing, metal working, powder metallurgy and sintering, wax modeling, sizing, crop protection, and so on.

The method includes hydrating the olefin using a base treated, sulfonated, halogenated and acid regenerated thermally stable catalyst. In several variants, the olefin hydration comprises butene hydration, propene hydration, hydration of cyclohexene, propylene hydration, pentene hydration, hexene hydration, and heptene hydration. The present invention also provides a method of making a catalyst for olefin hydration, and provides alcohols manufactured by the catalyst(s), systems and methods described herein.

The butyl polymer derived from a reaction mixture which contains: (i) a monomer mixture comprising a C4 to C7 monoolefin monomer (preferably isobutylene) and a C4 to C14 multiolefin monomer (preferably isoprene); (ii) a multiolefin cross-linking agent (preferably divinyl benzene); and (iii) a chain transfer agent (preferably diisobutylene (2,2,4-trimethyl-1-pentene)). The subject butyl polymer has an improved balance of cold flow, filler dispersion, extrusion rate and die swell.
