摘要： Methods of improving Mooney stability of a brominated elastomer comprising: neutralizing a brominated elastomer effluent with a neutralizing agent and water to form a neutralized effluent comprising a hydrocarbon solvent; removing the solvent from the neutralized effluent to form a brominated elastomer slurry; and separating a brominated elastomer from the brominated elastomer slurry, wherein a Mooney stabilizer package comprising an amine-functional hindered amine stabilizer (HAS) and an acid scavenger can be added, together or separately, before the removing step are provided herein. The acid scavenger can comprise a protonatable atom with a pKa greater than the pKa of the HAS nitrogen atom. The separated brominated elastomer can have a delta Mooney of not more than about 10 Mooney units after ˜7 days at ˜80° C. Stabilized brominated elastomer compositions can be made using this method, and articles can be made from those compositions.

摘要： Disclosed is an ethylene-propylene copolymer having isotactic polypropylene crystallinity compounded with a halobutyl rubber in an amount effective to improve one or more of aged tensile strength retention, fatigue resistance, and dimensional stability. Also disclosed is an elastomer composition wherein the copolymer can have at least 60 wt % propylene-derived units and at least 6 wt % ethylene-derived units, and a tire inner tube or tire innerliner composition comprising from 1 to 10 phr copolymer. Also disclosed is a vulcanizate of the elastomer composition, and articles, tire innerliners, tires, and tire inner tubes comprising the vulcanizate. Further disclosed are processes for making molded articles, tire inner tubes and tires.

摘要： Provided are: a rubber composition (a silica master batch) that contains silica in a highly dispersed state, which is prepared by mixing a suspension with an emulsion of an emulsion-polymerized conjugated diene polymer and then coagulating the resultant mixture, wherein the suspension is prepared by highly dispersing wet silica, which does not undergo secondary coagulation yet, or silica, which is prepared by mechanically dissociating secondary coagulation masses of silica, in water and the emulsion-polymerized conjugated diene polymer contains a functional group that is reactive with silica or has high affinity for silica; and a method for producing the rubber composition. A clam (a small mass of a rubber) which contains silica in a highly dispersed state is hardly dried. Therefore, the clam is dried in an apparatus which is composed of a drying apparatus composed of a dehydrator and a hot-air drier and a heating roll for drying purposes provided to the drying apparatus, whereby a rubber composition in which silica is highly dispersed and which has high reinforcing performance can be produced. As a method for mixing the emulsion of the emulsion-polymerized conjugated diene copolymer with the silica suspension, a mere agitating/mixing procedure can be employed, and a process of mixing the components homogenously while applying a stimulus such as heat or pressure to the mixture of the components using a steam ejector to cause the coagulation of the components can also be employed desirably.

摘要： C7-C12 secondary alcohol esters of cyclohexanecarboxylic acids are especially useful as plasticizers for PVC and other plasticizable polymers. In embodiments, these plasticizers are useful in plastisol formulations to help improved processability of flexible PVC material. In other embodiments these same plasticizers can be used in blends with other plasticizers to improve processability. In preferred embodiments these same plasticizers can be used to prepare flexible PVC compounds with enhanced low temperature flexibility, low toxicity, and improved resistance to outdoor aging.
